Just wanted to see if anyone has tried this with their kids? We tried to book the Pirate Cruise and it's booked the week we are going and I thought we might try this since we are staying at POFQ?

How was it?

Thanks! Amy

Really nice! We were just there a couple of weeks ago, and caught it from POR to Downtown Disney at around 3:30 or 4:00 in the afternoon, with no wait. DS-5 loved it! And coming back, right around sunset, was absolutely beautiful!! Our driver was very informative, and told us all about the animals and buildings we saw, as well. We didn't wait long at DTD either, but they did announce a very long wait for people going the other way (from the resorts to DTD) right then, so watch what time you go!

Did you try the Albatross Cruise from Yacht Club? I know POC would be more convenient, but just a thought.:sunny: And keep trying the Pirate Cruise; there may be cancellations.

From www.allearsnet.com
Description: The Bayside Marina near the Yacht Club also offers a special Albatross Treasure Cruise for children ages 4-10 -- Children will wear bandannas as they follow clues and sail to many exotic "ports of call" around Crescent Lake and Epcot looking for treasure. During the voyage, children will hear a reading of "The Legend of the Albatross." At the final port of call, children will have lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cookie, and juice box, and will split up the "buried treasure." Held Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Children must be potty trained -- no pull-ups. Price is $28.17 plus tax per child. Reservations are recommended. Call 407-WDW-DINE

Thanks! I did try the Albatross cruise as well and still booked... and I'm gonna keep trying back for both. I think my son would enjoy the Pirate Cruise a lot more, but just thought I would see what else was out there.

The CBR has a new pirate cruise. It is called the Caribbean Adventure Cruise. I just booked it for my DS. You need to call directly to the Barefoot Bay Marina at the CBR. Here is the phone number 407-934-2850. I haven't heard much about this one but my DS really wanted to do a pirate cruise and this was the only one I could get.

I hadn't heard about that. Too bad my ds is still too young for it. :(

Here's the info from Mouseplanet.com for anyone who might be interested:

Another pirate cruise for kids debuts

Following the success of the Pirate Cruise for kids a the Grand Floridian Resort and Albatross Treasure Cruise at the Yacht Club Resort, and building on the legend of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and movie, the Caribbean Beach Resort will debut the Islands of the Caribbean Adventure Cruise this Tuesday.

As with the other cruises, it is for kids ages 4-10, who must be potty-trained with no pull-ups. Up to 12 young pirates will receive bandannas and follow clues to find treasure, which will be divided up between the lucky crew members. Lunch, in the form of Smuckers Uncrustables sandwiches, juice and snacks, will be served.

The cruise will sail from the Barefoot Bay Boat Yard every Tuesday and will run from 9:30-11:30. It may not yet be available in the main reservation system at the WDW-DINE and WDW-PLAY numbers, so if you can't make a reservation that way, you can call the Barefoot Bay Boat Yard Marina directly at 407-934-2850. The cruise will cost $28.17 plus tax per child ($30.00 including tax).
