Was wondering how the food is here? How late does it stay open? How early does it open? Now, don't laugh, but what are Beignets?

Well, I don't know if this helps any, but since we tried this place, we make it a point to go every time we visit the world! They have the best gravy for your mashed potatoes. I always get the rotisserie chicken with it. Biegnets are more or less donuts without a hole. They are covered in powdered sugare and are grrreat!! I recommend it. Make sure you try the gravy!
We ate there once at 9:00. Don't know what day that was, but I thought it might help. I have a thought htat they may be open until 10, but I am not sure.

Loved the Beignets!! You should try 3 for a snack. We really liked the POFQ food court. It was open untill 11 but they do start to wind down the grills, etc at 10 or 10:30. We had the King Creole for breakfast everymorning. DD and I shared it and it was plenty of food. The food court seating area isnt large so it can be kinda crowded at breakfast hour. DD liked the fact they had hand dipped icecream for her to have at night. The food was good, but I dont really remember what I had the few cs lunches/after dinner snacks we got there. If you want walk over to POR to Boatwrights for some good sit down prime rib. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for your input. Have not been in a few years and am looking forward to it. By the sounds of it, I'll have to try the beignets. Do you know if they just make them for breakfast or are they available all day?

The Beignets are available all day. My mom has a friend that swears they are better than the ones in New Orleans.

Beignets are delicious!! They make a great quick breakfast. I had never had one until I tried it there. For comparison purposes, they kind of remind me of a Chinese donut if you've ever eaten those, except 10 times better!!!!

The beignets are SOOO GOOOD! If you're on the meal plan you can get them as a snack. (hopefully that hasn't changed! I did that in july!) They have large cinnamin rolls in the morning that are really good for breakfast also. I had a veggie sandwich one night and that was good also. I'm sure you'll enjoy it but you HAVE To try the beignets!

Thanks for the input, i'm new to these boards and will be arriving at POFQ in 19 days, my first stay there (usually go to All Star). As a New Orleans native, I'm especially interested to see if they can make truly authentic beignets. A little advice for first time beignet eaters - the powdered sugar can go everywhere so have a wet wipe handy.

The beignets that we got a few years back were terrible. Very rubbery and tough. Nothing at all like Cafe Du Monde in NOLA. I very much doubt that they are better than the ones in NOLA. Well, maybe last September, but not now.
