Sarilas' O-fficial Pre-Trip Report (a.k.a. Vacation, Take TWO!) - Jan. 30-Feb. 8, '09

All those scary numbers made my head hurt! But I'm glad you have things figured out now--yay for people who actually know what they're doing/saying when you call them! :goodvibes

Tell me about it! This CM was on the BALL. I wondered about the earlier one... she sounded about 12 years old like I was interrupting her solitaire marathon... never a good sign.

Alright... it's official!

We're booked for our January '09 package at ASMusic Family Suites from the 10th - 18th! 7 days, 8 nights, Disney dining plan... CONFIRMED!

Is there anything better in the world than that?!

Dang it! Stupid DIS has robbed me of the ability to click smileys in again. Hopefully I remember some.

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dance3: :dance3: :yay: :yay:

Second, I'm confused. My mom is an AP holder. Unless they changed things for next year, this year she booked Pop during May at a discounted rate and was able to purchase the dining plan for herself and my nana, also an AP holder.:confused3

What Disney res. (part deux) told me was to get the dining plan you'd have to buy at least one day's ticket admission to the parks - maybe that's what they did? We thought about it but it just starts to confuse things radically and I could no longer figure out if I was benefiting or not! Either that or maybe they got the discounted dining option available to AP holders and FL residents?

Yes, if your dates were the same as mine!

Congrats on the booking!!!

When ARE you going?

TK- I'm sitting here thinking about your Mom (hi, Mom!) and now I'm DYING to know how she got the Dining Plan and WHICH Disney res. was correct! If you talk to her, would you ask her from your obsessed DIS pal, huh?!

Honey, I don't want to bum you out in case their policy changed this year but I know for a fact that she did not have to purchase any additional tickets. Just had her aps, got a room ressie, got the dining package for AP holders, which is essentially the dining plan for everyone else, just without tix.:guilty:

Okay, are you ready for this?!

Spurred on by our own lovely TK's confirmation that AP discount rate AND dining plan were a possibility I called back to Disney Reservations a third time and got the world's best CM EVER. EVER, do you see the emphasis here?!

Diamond was her name (love it!) and she made things crystal clear; the passholder discounts (room) are not ALWAYS available- they're released periodically throughout the year and when they're gone, they're gone. They're not available all year long either so there will be times where it's not available, period. She said you CAN get dining, and no park tickets were necessary! (This is apparently something that changes periodically or recently, I didn't think to ask which.)

It just so happens that they released a few January '09 discounts for AP holders... so... I've changed the original package plan to the Annual Passholder discount rate at ASMusic Family Suites, same dates (10-18) with the regular dining plan! The price comes out to what the first person quoted me, and I can add tickets later! I just have to show my AP at the resort upon check in - that's it! So I can get the AAA discounted tickets and AP, get the AP discounted room rates AND the Disney Dining Plan!

Knock me over with a feather and TK, THANK YOU for telling me about your Mom's having pulled this off! :cool1:
