Is there a significant difference between deluxe studio and standard studio? If so, let me if you think the extra points are worth it. Thanks.

Do you mean the deluxe studios vs. the deluxe preferred studios? the preferred studios are located in the Springs and Congress Park buildings that are situated near the main building and Disney Springs. The resort is huge- so you pay a premium for a better location.

There is a refurbishment going on right now- all preferred studios have been updated, but I do not believe all of the standard studios are done yet. I personally spend the extra points for preferred. I like the shorter walk to Disney Springs and the updated studio is gorgeous.

I stayed standard at Paddock once and didn't mind the location. But man, if I got Grandstand... whoa!

The only studios that are not done are the ones that are currently closed and being worked on right now. So, anyone going will be in an updated room. :tigger:

Aren't Jumbo Value studio not designated as deluxe?
Also, there are the Riviera Tower studios.
Jambo Value are still considered Deluxe Studios. Again, it is inconsistency of term. The "deluxe" moniker is just marketing hoo hoo.

We just stayed at a preferred studio in the Springs area and really liked the convenience to the pool. However, Paddock pool is great with its own water slide and large kids play area, so if you stay in that location I think it would be fine too, If you plan on going to DS a lot, it might be worth paying to get into Congress Park area for the short walk. I would personally be fine with being in Paddock if doing non-preferred but would not be happy with being in Grandstand area.

Grandstand isn´t that bad; we liked it. It is the first bus stop, which is nice. It was close to the boat to DS when that is up and running. The pool is nice too.

I really hope they bring The boats back! I stayed at Old Key West in March and a cast member at the front desk said they weren’t running because they can’t do bag/security checks at the boat docks. Take that with a grain of salt… but those boats make the Port Orleans resorts, OKW and I guess part of Saratoga super desirable!

As to the "Deluxe Studio" issue, be aware that about 11 years ago, all DVC Members went to sleep one night when all the DVC studios were still just named "Studios." They woke up the next morning to find, in all the online and written promotional materials, that the name of all studios, except the value studios at AKV, had been changed to "Deluxe Studios." And if you were at Disney at the time staying in a studio and looked around the room in the morning, you would have noticed that absolutely nothing had changed in the room from the way it was the day before.
