Hi all! We have a one bedroom and a studio reserved on DVC points at Saratoga. I saw photos online of refurbished rooms. Are all the Saratoga villas refurbished or is it something we should request? TIA!

The murphy bed in the living room is comfortable, much better than the old couch pull-out. Agreed, the refurb is really good.

I was just looking at the pictures of a studio. The glass door on the tub/shower is a concerned to me. Anyone with mobility issues have trouble getting in and out of tub.

They do have handicap accessible rooms for mobility issues. I think DVC was onto something when they made CCV with tubs and walk in showers.

1br shower entry and actual shower is at an odd angle and somewhat narrow. Anyone with Mobility issues should ask for handicap room.

Stayed in a 1-bed first week of May with parents. I tagged along to their (parents') trip and I'm so glad I did. I slept on the Murphy bed in the living room and it was AWESOME. I loved how easy it was to navigate and put up during the day. The decor/design is gorgeous. I actually worked remotely from the villa while my parents went off into the park because I was a late add-on. The WiFi was tremendous and I got a lot of compliments on the woodwork/wood paneling on my zoom calls hahaha!

We were on the first floor of one thee villas in The Springs. I was concerned it would be noisy, but it was absolutely fine. I didn't hear anything. I also loved how easy it was to get in and out of our room. We usually stay at AKL and those rooms require such a long jaunt to/from the elevators. Our balcony was so splendid. It looked out onto a foutain and a water view. Everything was just lovely.

Had a 11-15 min walk to DS, which was huge. I had no problem getting in line & trying Gideon's. I strongly believe that WITH the renovation PLUS the proximity to the (still) NEW DS, SSR is one of the top DVC resorts to choose from now. The amt of food options is incomparable to any other resort on Disney property. I'm drooling thinking of Boathouse, Jaleo, Wolfgang Puck, and so many more...... Not to mention Polite Pig, Sprinkles, Everglazed, Gideon's, etc. Man, so spoiled...

We stayed in a refurbed SSR one-bedroom back in June and LOVED the renovations. The pull down bed and kitchen area were great, and the bedroom was so roomy. The only thing I don't love about the layout is the weird bathroom, which is divided into three sections each with their own doors. The tub/sink area, the shower area, and the toilet area are all separated and sometimes it felt like we were playing a "What's behind Door Number X?" game show, ha. But it's a minor quibble for the amount of space you get and the overall beauty of the renovations.

We also stayed in the Springs area which I ended up loving, even though I originally requested Congress Park. The Springs was the perfect distance to both pools, the bus stop, Artist's Palette and a pleasant 15-min walk to Disney Springs. Would request that location again.

BRV, BCV and BWV 1 bedrooms are the same design as SSR. They all have the bathroom with a lot of doors. It all makes sense. It allows a guest staying in the living room to use the bathroom without going into the bedroom.

Just an FYI - the bathroom door situation in the SSR 1 BR is far more challenging than in the BWV 1 BR that I'm quite familiar with! In addition to the doors from the living room and the master bath as well as the shower door, SSR has a door to the water closet ("throne room"). The door to the throne room, when open, completely blocks the sink which is directly next to it. The door from the living room opens into the space in front of the shower, which is also the area of entry from the master bath, and if someone is entering from the master and someone from the living room simultaneously, the person coming from the master is at risk of being slammed in the face. The shower door also opens into the same space the living room and master bath doors do. I'm not sure whether it was the addition of the water closet (instead of having the toilet out in the open) or an actual reduction in square footage compared to BWV, but the SSR bathroom seemed distinctly smaller than the one at BWV. Other than that, we loved the SSR renovated 1 BR!

I never noticed that the bathrooms are a little different. Now that I look at the layout all BCV, BRV, BWV and SSR bathrooms are all similar but different layouts.

This vid shows the bathroom situation.

For us, I think we will keep the door locked between the two sides and anybody going to the actual bathroom will enter through the hall. That way nobody gets surprised with a door in the face and my wife and I will have access to the "other side" of the bathroom from the master to get ready.
