We just purchased a Vacation Club interest in Saratoga Springs.

Can anyone give us some advice, any tips, best rooms, etc?

Anyone stay there in the past who can offer any info.

Thanks!

It's a big place and fairly new, most rooms are going to be just fine. You might want to look at a map to choose an area that you think might appeal to you within the resort and maybe ask for a "type" of view when you book (i.e. Downtown Disney view, golf course, pool etc. etc).

Welcome Home!:cheer2:

When are you planning to go for your first time?

congress park is popular and makes it easy to walk to DTD's bus hub to resort hop.

The main areas that are most commonly mentioned are going to be Grandstand, which is the first bus stop and pretty close to the Carriage House (pool, restaurants, etc). Grandstand also has a walkway to DTD West Side. Springs is also pretty close to Carriage House and is the last bus stop. Congress Park is closest to DTD, about a 5 minute walk. Paddocks is on the other side of the Pond and has a bridge over to the Springs area....it is not as busy being a little further away from the Carriage House, so it is more peaceful, little noise, etc. Lastly is Carousel which is the furthest away from all the action. It is more the peaceful place, most people recommend having a car if you are here and want to get back and forth to the Carriage House.

Best rooms really depends on what you want. If you like DTD and want to be really close to all those restaurants, etc....Congress Park. If you want to be near the "big" pool and lobby...springs or grandstand. If you want to be a little further away and see the animals that might come by, etc Paddocks, with relatively easy access to Carriage House from most rooms. If you just want to be away from everyone else, then carousel is your spot! All of the areas also have a quiet pool, with the exception of Springs and Carousel, so you don't have to be near the Carriage House for a pool.

Hope that helps. There were some pretty good maps posted before that showed the walkways to DTD and different areas. You can also find maps on disneys web site.

We have stayed at SSR a few times, it is our home resort, and we love it!!!

You will read many different opinions on the questions you asked, so think of your first trip/stay at SSR as a learning experience to get acquainted with the resort.

The Congress Park area is the closest to DTD if you plan on walking. The resort is pretty spread out, but beautiful, so we love walking around. We find it no big deal to make the 5 minute walk to the main pool, and check-in/restaurant area. We have never stayed in the other buildings, but they are all fairly new (Grandstand is the newest).

I love this resort. We use the quiet pools a lot, and since I like to golf, it is great to just grab the clubs and go over to the clubhouse. A big plus for me. Walk over to DTD in the evenings for dinner too.

Just enjoy and get a feel for the place, I dont think you can go wrong no matter where you stay. Good luck
