Has anyone visited either or both of the above? We have found very few pictures of Saratoga's Spa but have heard it was voted one of the best by readers of Conde Nast Traveler. The pictures we have seen of the Mandara look lovely and we are not sure which one to go to.

Any suggestions or links to photos would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tammy

I haven't been to SSR but I believe it is rated as the best at the on-site resorts. The facility is newer than others so that may have something to do with it. If you are a subscriber, go to ***************** and check out their review of all the spas in the area. (it's under hotels and resorts).

I've been to Mandara. It was nice, but there was something about it that didn't feel quite right/completely luxurious. The space used to be a bar (copabanana or something) years ago and it has a vaguely retrofitted feel. It was fancy and all that, but not glorious. I was probably expecting too much but then, the prices were sky high.

That's the Touring Plans website. AKA the Unofficial Guide to WDW... Again, you need to be a subscriber to get at the review.

Seriously, Canyon Ranch at Gaylord Palms is THE best spa in the area.

Funnily enough, I've just been checking out the Canyon Ranch website and I was rapidly coming to that very conclusion. Most of our party would have to get a cab to SSR or the Dolphin, so a trip to Gaylord Palms would be just as easy.

Thanks - that's really helpful. It can be so hard to tell from photos.

we do visit the Spa @ SSR every few months. :cloud9:
What's the facility itself like? Is it luxurious? The limited number of photos on AllEars are the only ones we've come across and it appears very clinical and functional.

I had a manicure at the Mandera Spa in April. I really enjoyed it! It is very luxurious and relaxing there. Sorry I don't have any pics to share, but I can tell you it was a nice time and I'd go back!
