I prefer to make the request via the member website contact form when I make the reservation. That way you get a written receipt of what was requested.

There's no proof that it actually worked (since I haven't been yet), but if you have your reservations linked on the main disneyworld.com site, they are allowing (for those whose computers have the luck of connecting to the site as fully as they are allowing, at least) checkin up to 60 days out. And for SSR they had checkboxes for each of the areas of the resort. You could choose up to 2 options; I chose the area I thought would be nice, and ground (or maybe it said "lower"?) floor. they also have an option of ignoring requests for the chance to check in early. I didn't check that one.

You could always print the screen for "proof".

And when I go back into my disneyworld.com account and click in to each of my reservations and choose online checkin (note that I'm currently still 12 or 13 days out), it asks if I want to *change* my checkin. So it *seems* like it has worked.

I have had sucess 100% of the time when I give 2 choices.

I choose Springs and Paddoct. (we like being close to mug refill/pool/bus stop).


Note DTD view/bld is most common, so pick 2 if you have a 2nd choice.


But I see no reason to not request. 1st stay we didn't and ended in the last room in caro.

I had success requesting Congress last year using online check in. For this year's DVC reservation I have linked it on MDE and it is showing that I can do online check in now (our reservations are in 45 days). I haven't been able to get it to work though. I get an error on the final screen after I my make my room location selections. Has anyone had success with checking in online using MDE? It would be nice not to have to wait until the 10 day window.
