If I remember correctly, someone had information on where to find the SS points chart. Also, does anyone know when they will start taking reservations to stay at SS or have they already? Thanks

Caskbill has prepared a comparison for <a href="http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=416317">SSR and all DVC resorts.</a>

SSR owners can begin making reservations on December 1, 2003 and other DVC members may make reservations starting on February 4, 2004. The resort is scheduled to open on May 1, 2004.

Thank you as usual for being so helpful. Any idea why SSR requires less points than VWL or BCV. I was expecting more since it is a newer resort.

Disney Vacation Development tried to develop a point chart that takes location into account. SSR isn't attached to a deluxe resort, unlike BWV, VWL, and BCV. And you can't walk or take a boat to a theme park from SSR. So SSR should be fewer points per night.

My question is not why SSR requires fewer points than VWL or BCV. My question is why SSR requires more points than OKW.

The location of SSR is only slightly better than OKW (due to SSR's proximity to Downtown Disney). And the SSR will incorporate the former Disney Institute Spa. But SSR won't have the "extra large" 1BR and 2BR condos that you'll find at OKW. Yet SSR will take more points per night than OKW.

I could have seen the same point chart as OKW, with the location making up for the smaller rooms.

My speculative opinion would be that it has to do with the upgrade to the pool and spa facilities when compared to OKW.

I think it's supply and demand. SSR can require more in points than OKW and it will still sell. The more points required in a room, the more $$$ to be made.
