Is there an official opening date yet?

Any date when members can make reservations at the resort?

Will the points be comparable to BCV and WLV?

Just wondering?

SSR is scheduled to open May 1, 2004. SSR owners may make reservations there beginning December 1, 2003 and other members may make reservations starting February 4, 2004 (based on the 7 month priority and, of course, availablity).

SSR point requirements are generally lower than VWL/BCV and higher than OKW.

Only one building (46 villas) will be available in May. The next 3 buildings will open in June, July and August- so availability will be limited for awhile.

I'm curious: for those buying into SSR, how are use years being assigned? With buildings opening only in M,J,J & A - then a hiatus - do they just use those months or do they level it out over the whole year?

The Use Years will be spread out for each building that comes on line.

I suppose this could be an issue if all 4 should sell out before next May, but realistically, that's not going to happen. DVC expects to be selling SSR for a few years at least.

When I bought my points at SSR a couple of weeks ago I got to choose whatever use year I wanted. I chose June, so if we don't plan on going down on our usual November week, we can bank the points for next year.
