The gift shop at Saratoga Springs gift shop per my guide books sells groceries.

What type of groceries does the SSR gift shop sell ?

Do they sell fruit, bread, deli packages, cereal, condiments, cakes, donuts & danish ?

From the SSR boat dock - how far is the walk to SSR gift shop ?

Could we take a taxi back to POFQ from the SSR with our grocery shopping ?

The boat dock is at the back of the same building as the store - less than 5 minutes from dock to store.

I haven't paid attention to the SSR groceries, but most of the DVC resorts have bread, fruit, pre-packaged sandwiches, Lunchables, frozen waffles & sausage, cereal, etc. A fair selection, but you pay extra for the convenience.

And yes, you could take a cab back if you wanted to - just walk out the front of the building (all the same building) and if there's one there, ask the Bell Services people to call a cab - one would be there in minutes.

Just wanted to add - I'm sure the POFQ gift shop has some grocery type items to buy as well. I don't remember checking that myself when we were there, but pretty much every resort store I've been in has some selection of basic items.

Thank you for all the info - if POFQ does not have what we like - we will go to SSR - still less expensive than a small order from groceries.com or a taxi to and from a grocery store. :goodvibes

I know they have every thing you mentioned, except not sure about the deli packages. Not sure when you are going but if its not terribly hot you can take the boat to Downtown Disney and walk to Goodings, it's about a mile along a very shady tree line walk way.

Then taxi back to your resort. I seriously doubt the taxi would be more than going from SSR, they seem to have a minimum charge and while Goodings is not cheap compared to Publix it is cheaper than a Disney gift store.

We just got back from AKV. It had pre-packaged lunch meat (turkey, ham and maybe chicken). I know SSR also had the same offerings last August. All of the DVC resorts offer the same grocery items.

You can usually find some items (donuts, cookies) at all resort gift shops.

Both OKW and SSR, which are along the same route, have groceries. SSR has a slightly larger selection, but you can find most of the basics at OKW as well.

They both will have loaves of bread, lunch meats, cheeses, fruits, boxes of donuts, crackers, milk, sodas, wine, beer, peanut butter, and other basic staples.

You can go to Goodings by DTD, but I have to warn you that they mark up their prices as high and even up to 15% higher than even Disney on some stuff, especially fruits and such. Publix is the cheapest and closest in our experience, but that would require a car (which is sounds like you won't have). So, OKW or SSR are probably your best bets.

You could also consider ordering from garden grocer and they will deliver directly to the resort, but they have a delivery fee. It may be worth the convenience though if you need/want bottled water, drinks, etc :)

HTH...
