Saratoga Springs DVC Room Request

I recently booked a standard studio room at Saratoga Springs. I understand The Springs and Congress Park are "preferred" rooms now that cost a little more points, but for some reason it still allows me to request it via My Disney Experience. My question is, is there a point in requesting a room in these areas if I used points for just a standard room? Or is there a chance I could get one of these preferred rooms if I request it?

It would be a waste of a request. The options during Online Check In often don't make sense. Such as "Close To Elevators" at resorts that don't have them.
