Saratoga Springs- can't figure out what to request...

Booked a 2 bedroom via cash so I don't think I qualify for preferred, if I can I would readily pay for this.

This is a multi generational trip with my 83 year old mother in law, my adult kids, my sister in law and younger teen niece and nephew. Did a similar trip 3 years ago and was able to request the springs but I think this was before preferred category (or we just got lucky).

I have been going back and forth with 2nd best alternative after the Springs and can't figure out what to request. Nana is going to want to go to the pool and she is going to want that 3pm "adult drink and snack" as well. Teens are going to want to hit the arcades, and possibly the tennis courts as well as the pool so I have to accommodate both needs. No issues with the rest of us but would really like to make this a great trip for Nana.

Not going to the parks until Nana leaves so park transportation isn't an issue, we will be enjoying the resort and downtown Disney for a long weekend.

I have been searching maps and using the touring plan site - so far it looks like paddocks but it looks like some of them can be fairly far away from pools and the carriage house. Alternately considering The grandstand but wondering if the closest building is also preferred?

Any ideas on an area my reservation qualifies that can meet all our needs?

More than likely, you'll get the Paddock, the Grandstand or Carousel. Both Paddock and Grandstand have a pool close by. Carousel is probably the furthest from everything except the entrance to SSR. Paddock has a nice little counter service at the pool as well. You might want to bring Nana's favorite adult beverage fixings and just make them in the villa and take them to the pool.

Grandstand or Paddock. Both are near feature pools, with pool bars. I would suggest Paddock, personally. Paddock near Pool.

None of Grandstand is preferred. All of Springs and Congress Park are preferred.

Paddock area has a nice little bar/snack area for Nana. Short walk over a pretty bridge to main area. Request Paddock near pool.

Thanks everyone! Looking at the map it looks like Grandstand building by the pool is much closer than Paddock but I know sometimes the maps can be deceiving. I think I will call and ask for Grandstand first choice and Paddock by the pool second choice and hope for the best. I can also clarify what my reservation qualifies for in case I decide to do a touring plans fax.

I agree with the Grandstand, we've stayed there several times and always enjoyed it. It does have a nice pool, is only a @ 5 minute walk to the main building and it is the 1st bus stop, so you are 1st on and 1st off.

Grandstand is my favorite area at SSR. I would request close to Grandstand close to transportation if at all possible though. It's a short walk up a little hill to the main areas, but if you are put in one of the further buildings in the Grandstand area, it can add a lot to the walk!!
