Saratoga Springs - Building Request?

Hi everyone. A friend of mine will be staying at SSR in Dec. with her DD and DM. I have heard SSR is pretty spread out - I am wondering if you could tell me which building you would request if you wanted to be closest to DTD and which building you would request to be closest to the main registration/store area? Also any thoughts on buildings closest to buses, pools etc. I couldn't find a map of the resort anywhere and she was looking for the info so she could put in a request. She just wants to keep walking to a minimum for her DM, but hasn't decided yet what she would like to be closest to. Thanks so much for your advice and information!

Congress park is the closest to DTD, I've stayed in that area several times. the walk is about 5-10 minutes.

near dd I agree - Congress Parkl


near the lobby, food court, main swimming pool, restuarant (very, very small), gym and spa - you have 2 choices either

Springs or Grandstand.

the only building I would suggest you not try is Carousel and even it has some nice rooms.

The springs and the grandstand are close to the pool and dining area.

Congress Park is the best location, IMHO.....close to DTD and relatively close to the main buildings and pool. The Springs would be my second choice.

Oh! I see - the areas where the buildings are located have the names (not like Poly or GF where the buildings themselves have specific names) - got it!! Thanks! I passed the info onto my friend. Thank you so much!

We stayed in the Paddocks on one of our trips there and it was a short walk across the bridge to the main area. In warmer weather, if you have children the Grandstand area is great as it has a water works area. My grandchildren, ages 4 & 6 loved that! DH, DB & I enjoyed the pool bar while we did laundry and the kids played. I'm not able to drink alcohol, but there was a refillable mug station there, too!

Springs is closest to High Rock Springs pool and community hall, etc.

We stayed at Congress Park. It's about a 5 minute walk to DTD Marketplace. My kids enjoyed the quiet pool at CP better than the main pool. The quiet pool has a fantastic view of DTD. If I were to return to SSR, I'd definitely request CP over any of the other sections.
