Just wondering- This will be our first trip next year and I would like to schedule for my DH & myself something at the Spa- How far in advance can I make a reservation? Will I NEED a reservation or could we perhaps decide to "fit" it in as we enjoy our stay?
Also, Has anyone here been to the Spa & what did you have done?

Thx!

I have had the good fortune of having a variety of treatments at both the spa at The Grand Floridian and at Saratoga Springs. I like both for different reasons, and they are both fabulous!

As for reservations, you will need them. However, I have never made them in advance of my actual trip. I usually figure out when we get there what I want and when, and then make my reservation(s) for our visit. Now, I would not necessarily suggest my method, but you can get "last minute" reservations. And I should also mention that we tend to stay for at least 7 nights so I have a longer period in which to fit in my treatments; with a short 3-5 day visit, it may be more difficult.

Enjoy!

Thx! Yes I have browsed through the "brochures" I just can't decide what to have done- LOL They are all so wonderful- Should I stick with something I know or go for a totally different treatment- just wanted an idea of what others really enjoyed...
Thx Blahnde, We will be for 5 days so maybe I should at least try to book a few weeks before we leave then? or even a month?
I just want some alone time for my DH & I (well, a no kids moment) -
Thx for the input guys

Since you are going for a shorter trip, I would recommend making reservations in advance; a few weeks to a month should be sufficient unless you are going during a holiday. As for "couples time," I think there are only a few choices, but I admit I have not tried any of them. My other half has no interest in pampering, unfortunately!

I have tried conventional treatments (mani/pedi and messages) and somewhat unconventional treatments (hot stone therapy, aromatherapy whirlpool baths, and sugar scrubs.) The only bad experience I had was an overly "enthusiastic" message therapist who overworked some areas; my tookus and shoulders hurt for a few days. Live and learn! Other than that everything else was great.

I would suggest that if you are considering a treatment with which you are not familiar, that you ask a lot of questions before booking. Sitting there wondering what is going on or about to happen does not lead to full relaxation in my book. I need to know what to expect or I do not feel comfortable, and that is the point afterall!

Other than that, just enjoy the pampering!

We didn't get any services but loved the workout room and spa. Was nice to get a workout in go to the parks......come back take a nice hot tub, sauna and steam room.....just relax. Go back to the room and head out again. SSR was awesome as we had a mom and dad only trip. Wander down to downtown disney at night and just roam around. Enjoy your trip!

I've done quite a few treatments at SSR (which I like much better than the GF spa) and I usually book my treatments a week or so before I go if I want to do multiple treatments back to back. I prefer to go in the mornings while DH is golfing. I've booked treatments after arriving and have not had a problem getting in for a single treatment but I've had to be flexible on the time. So I suggest that if you are wanting to do back to backs or want specific times of the day, you book before going.

I've done facials, various massages, scrubs and wraps. I've found them all to be very pleasant here.

Blahnde, you are right- I don't know what ALL of the treatments involve- & I would also like to have something done just for me- not including DH that is-
But not sure if the Spa has-
Looking for a facial or treatment that will tighten my skin and reduce pores- Is there anything that they do that is similar or exactly like that? I am too chicken to get a facelift and I'd like to say not that vain :rolleyes1 LOL But I would love to get a treatment that would give me a similar outcome-
If either you or Pakey know if they do this I would appreciate knowing- Thx!
