ok the question first. anyone ever go to print their boarding pass & it won't let them. we are leaving in the morning & it won't let me print for my brother inlaw. i think its because of his last name. Smith. we have 5 people going & his is the only one that won't let me. it tells me his reservation is in the system but he must see a rep at the airport. to top that we are getting 4-6 inches of snow tonight & my duaghter is sick. should i just stay home now. not

The boarding pass thing happened to us last month - I could do mine and my daughter's but it wouldn't let me print my husbands. He had to see the Southwest representative at the airport and provide a drivers license. Same thing coming home. The Southwest ticket counter person indicated it has something to do with names on watchlists - my husband has a pretty common name also. We just took the boarding passes for my daughter and I and hoped that no one would take the other seat in our row before my husband boarded - not really a big deal if we didn't sit together but we managed to each time.

Yes, happens to my dh all the time. But only leaving our town. He is wanted by the Sheriff. He has a very common first and last name. Anyways he just has to show his driver's license before he gets the pass. Since we fly Southwest a lot they did put his driver's license number in the system so he can print his boarding pass at home. However if we fly any other airline we have to show them his DL. But it usually doesn't matter since other airlines assign seats. You can save a seat for your BIL if he gets a later boarding pass letter.

I don't think that this would go over very well on the Transportation board ;)
