Sarasota Spring studio question

Hi! Do the Sarasota Spring studio have a freezer section in the mini refrigerators? I don’t need much frozen space, so small is fine. But none….that would be frustrating.

I'll preface this by saying I haven't stayed at Saratoga since before the shut down. The last time I stayed, they had those mini freezers. Think college dorm room fridge with the tiny square/rectangle area at the top for the freezer. At max, it fits like 2 regular sized frozen meals.

I always stayed in the Paddock section. I believe it was after the refurb.

I have stayed in the Grandstand area 4 times in studios since the refurbishment. There were no freezer compartments in any of the mini fridges.

No freezer section.

Thanks all! Sounds like most likely no freezer unless its an oddball room. Might need to take the Toaster Strudels off the grocery list! It's very annoying Disney doesn't specify.

Just stayed at Congress Park (2 weeks ago) Preferred Studio - NO FREEZER

Congress Park studios 2023 and 2024 - both had freezers within fridge (the type that aren’t great but will keep semi frozen).

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to which rooms have a freezer and which don't

What I think is happening, and this is just a guess, is that as the goofy beverage coolers break they replace them with an actual mini fridge.

We just stayed at Poly and had a beverage cooler, but there are quite a few recent videos of the same building (Moorea) with rooms that had a mini fridge with freezer similar to the one tidefan had.

But yea at this point seems like its a crap shoot of getting beverage cooler vs mini fridge in a studio with a recentish refurb.

This is the unit Disney is currently replacing failed units with. So any room whose beverage cooler failed in the last ~4 months will have one of these.

Otherwise they will almost certainly have a beverage cooler.

Yes, in the last 12 months Disney pivoted back to mini fridges, first with a single door unit with a small freezer area like the old mini fridges and then more recently to the unit pictured above. But they’re only going in as replacements when units fail at most resorts.

This is true of basically every resort on property BTW; I think only GF got a sweep where they pitched all the beverage coolers for minifridges.

The website does say studios have mini refrigerators vs. the beverage coolers, at least. I’m crossing my fingers for a freezer section, but I won’t count on it!

I did have a broken beverage cooler at an All Star resort a few months ago and they did replace it with a refrigerator that actually froze some of my food! So, hoping that is a trend because the beverage coolers are awful. And, IMO, the DVC resorts really should have a mini fridge with a small freezer to help keep an amenity difference across room types.
