Sarah & Joshua's PJ~WP/Napa~6/25/2009~Updated 6/23~We're at Disney!!!

Just catching up on your PJ. I'm glad you are still going ahead with the DFTW!! Don't let others ruin your special day!! Now about the site you picked, it's just beautiful!!! I love it. Thanks so much for posting the pics because I couldn't find pictures of that room anywhere! I had been looking because we really loved the other American Adventure location but don't have enough people. This is the American Adventure Parlor room right? Were you given any other details about it? Like max amount of people, is there a certain time you have to have the reception in the room?

After reading your PJ, and other 2009 brides PJ's I really need to call DFTW!! I thought I had to wait to place a call, but I see so many others are way ahead of things than I am!!

Thanks for the support, and yes, this is the American Adventure Parlor. During the phone call, she asked about how many I was planning to have and I told her about 35-40. She suggested this room and the Norway Parlor. I'm thinking that the max for the AAP is 50, but don't take my word for it. She also told me that the sitting area would be used for the pre-reception. About times...she said I would probably have a 2:30 wedding, so that would put the reception in the evening. I hope that helped.

Thank you ! It did help. We really like the idea of having our ceremony at the WP, followed by the pre reception at the WH patio, then reception at the WH room, then an Illuminations DP. However, I would love to have our VR in Epcot since it is our favorite park! I just thought we would have to have it at a certain time. I would like to have our ceremony at 2:30 also. Where will you have your ceremony? Oh, one more question, I hope you don't mind! Where is the bathroom for the AA Parlor? I read here somewhere that the guests would have to share with park guests in the American Adventure.

I want to have my ceremony at the WP too! and wow! I never heard that about the bathroom before. i hope we don't have to "share" bathrooms!:crazy2:

my DF's family was worried about prices of a Disney room (there are 6 of them). i now believe that you can find out anything about disney on these boards:love: . i looked around and discovered that disney had family suites. those are the coolest things ever! i am so excited that they might have a chance to stay on disney property for the trip. i really wanted them near everything and to get the whole disney experience. every other time they have been, they have stayed in orlando somewhere.

nothing else new to report...things seemed to have slowed down a bit...any suggestions as to anything i could do next?

Umm, you could obsess and read the boards all day like me!LOL:lmao:
I have been looking through bride magazines for ideas on dresses, flowers, and favors. Thinking about the people who are coming and what resorts we want to block. Also, you could think about what songs you want played at your ceremony and reception.

I am on the boards all the time. ( I think I'm addicted to them;) ) and thanks for the ideas about stuff I could do. I want to get as much done now, so that I won't be all stressed out a month or two before the wedding.

I'm bored and I know there must be something I could do for the wedding, craft wise. Anybody have any suggestions as to stuff I could start making now? My theme is Cinderella.

On Jnale's PJ she had a great idea of instead of using #'s for the tables she will use Disney characters for table names. You could make those. Have you thought about favors? You could make something for that. How about designing what you want your welcome letters or itineraries to look like?

I love the naming tables idea! I think I have the perfect idea too. Since my theme is Cinderella the table names could be : Jaq Table, Gus Gus Table, Suzy Mouse table, Fairy Godmother Table, and The Glass Slipper Table! I even found some nice Lenox figurines to use too. :) i'll post pics when i have some more time, but right now i have some homework to get done for class tomorrow morning.

Hi WVTinkgirl and all other 2009 brides!

I see that I am way behind many of the rest of you, since it seems like you have all called and gotten planners already! I asked to receive info in the mail, but it hasn't arrived yet :guilty: . I'm sure it will get here soon, though :thumbsup2 .

Those of you that called FTW, did you just call up out of the blue and ask to talk to someone, or how did you go about doing this. I know that sounds stupid, but the phone is not really my thing. I don't like talking on it, and I really don't like calling people I don't know. :confused3 .

The AA reception site looks beautiful, but I wouldn't want to share a bathroom with the rest of the park either. Surely they have a better arrangement?

As for what else to do in your planning, I have no ideas for you. I have actually been trying to figure that out myself!

ETA: Love your ideas for table names! So cute!

That's what I did... I was super nervous too (don't know why, but my voice gets really squeaky when I'm on the phone with people I don't know.) The girl that answered the phone was super sweet, asked me a few questions, took down my information, and then had my coordinator call me back a few days later. They really are very sweet, don't be nervous! :)

OMG, I am exactly like you! The phone is not my thing and I haven't called DFTW either. Don't worry about being behind. I felt the same way too, but I'm trying to get myself to just call already!

I love the names for the tables!!!!

There is no bathroom inside the American Adventure... to use the rest room you must exit the entire building and it is to the left (if you are outside facing the American Adventure) and it is a standard Disney bathroom that any other day guests will have acess to it... man am I worried about having to pee LOL! :goodvibes

I asked Pam Pearce about this because I was worried about my guests using the bathroom after a full day of Epcot guests! Plus I didn't want to have to go out there myself. She says there is a small bathroom somewhere inside, I think on the upper level, that I (or the groom & some other close ones) could use. She said they could also request an extra cleaning for the outside one at the end of the day so it wouldn't be a disaster by the time the reception started.

I went in there one evening when I was down there in October to check it out and it was a mess!!:scared1:

Glad to know that there may be one for at least me to use lol! I will probably have the extra cleaning at closing because I wouldn't want my guests to be in a messy bathroom!!! Yuck!

My mom actually made the first call for me. She did it while I wasn't home though. :sad1: I was home for when they called back and it was very exciting. :woohoo: She said she was gonna send an info packet, but I haven't gotten it yet. I make sure to check the mailbox everyday now in hopes that it will have arrived.

I feel so much better knowing that there will be a special bathroom I could use, and I think I might try to have the bathroom cleaned as well. I don't like nasty bathrooms. :crazy2:

And thanks to all who complimented on the table names. I do have to admit that some of it was my mom's idea. She gives me lots of suggestions for different things.

My info packet came in the mail today!!! I am so excited. :goodvibes I just love the save the date packets. They have everything. I can't wait to see DF and my names on them. :) DF has work to night at Red Lobster until 10, so I am gonna head over there to meet him and show him the packet. I hope he is as excited to look at it as me. :cool1:

So I have been working on who to invite to the wedding and problems are creeping up already. Along with our immediate familiy, we are inviting aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and families of cousins who are married. I just found out the other day that some of my mom's cousins want to come as well. This would be really awesome if my grandmother's(mom's mom) family wasn't the way they are. If I don't invite all of them someone is going to be offended, and I don't want that. I also don't want there to be about a bazillion people to come. I know most of them probably wouldn't be able to come, but I just don't want my "maybe" numbers up that high.

I'm gonna talk to my mom tomorrow and see what happens.

We solved this problem easily haha. I know everyone wants their families to be there for them, but my fmaily is huge and there's no way I could invite all of them and DF family is small. There would probable be people from both familes wanting to stay and "hang out" the majority of the time we're there.. so yea.. not on the honeymoon. So we decided to do it with just the 2 of us, then have a dinner/reception when we get home.

As great as families are, they can sure be pains haha
