Sara & Ryan's Wishes PJ & TR ~ 8/17/10 WP/GF/Marina ~ 1/22 Thank you!

For our first full park day a bunch of us were going to DHS. So we all made plans to meet at the park that morning. So I forgot to mention that DH had a little too much fun that night and drank way too much at dinner so he was not feeling so good this morning and I took pity on him and let him sleep in and he would meet us for lunch.

I told him to call his mom and grandma to let them know he wasn't going, and they were already on their way to the bus stop.... it was a little after 7 am and park opening wasn't until 9, lol, so I suggested they get some breakfast first since there wouldn't be anything to do at DHS before opening.

I got ready and managed to meet up with everyone at DHS without any problems, and this worked out well all week, so don't worry about it being difficult to meet up with people if they are staying at different resorts. After we got in the park I took everyone's tickets so I could get the FP's and said "When we get in there, you won't see me, just meet me at Rock-n-Rollercoaster, I'll get us FP's" and then I disappeared like a ninja :rotfl:. They thought I was nuts.

So I start to get myself in position for rope drop and figured I'd get Tower of Terror first. Then the CM announces that today is the last day for Toy Story Mania ! I thought it would be closed that day! SO I had to make an executive decision and decided to get the FP for that. It was so crazy and but I was so excited and managed to get FP's with a return time of 10:05 am:banana:.

Lol, now everyone at RnR, is like, where is she? And I show up all sweaty but triumphant...only no one in the group really even knows what TSM is .

We rode RnR, TOT and TSM. Everyone loved TSM, so I'm glad we got to go on that. .

The girls and I wore our shirts, other people didn't really notice but it made for cute pictures.

We went to the animation studios but didn't have time to do the class unfortunately. Then we met up with DH, DMIL, DFIL and DH's Grandma at 50's PTC.

We had Aunt Sue and she was great, really in character. I can't even remember all the funny things she said but she made a big deal about us getting married in a few days. We had a great time.

After lunch we saw Lights Motors Action, but it was sooo hot up in the stand, so I was glad when that ended. The girls and I had plans that night and we only had time for one more thing so we split up and a few people went back to TOT. I was totally ready for an "air-condition" ride, and so were a few other so we went to One Man's Dream and then caught the bus back to our resorts. DSIL and I were really lucky and our bus was there right when we got to the stop.... everyone else wasn't so lucky...

The girls and I had plans to get our nails done and go to Medieval Times. An odd combination, I know, but my MOHs and I had always really wanted to go, you can blame "The Cable Guy" I guess .

My MOH had a car so she was picking us all up at 4:30 pm. Well the bus took a little longer than I thought it would...and I may have gotten sidetracked by some scones and devonshire cream in the lounge :rolleyes1...and we had some cute towel animals! Our Mousekeeeper told us we should take the cake since she had made it for us, and we did...but I gave it to my family to bring back and that seems to have gone the way of my bouquet and I haven't seen it since, not sure what I would do with it, but it was cute.

With all my little distractions I didn't really have time to shower, so I just got dressed and tried to make myself more presentable. As I was waiting by the front of the resort I ran into the CM that checked us in and had a nice conversation with him. Then another CM warned me that there was apparently a rough crowd there and told me about how their manager had gone to Medieval Times and she had gotten beat up in the parking lot and came to work the next day on crutches .

My MOH was very late picking me up, their bus had taken forever to come so I would have had time to shower after all but it was okay.

We were late to the nail salon and the girl at the front was not very nice, even though they had taken other customers in the meantime and it wasn't crowded and we were more than willing to wait :confused3. They did do a really nice job with our nails though. They did the french with a paintbrush which I had never seen before but it looked really nice. Although I was a little nervous at first because it was not looking good .

It did occur to us that maybe Medieval times and eating with our hands was not the best idea after getting our nails done, but oh well.

I will say that while Medieval times was definitely cooler in the Cable Guy, we did have a good time and the show was interesting. I'm really into Tudor history so it was fun to see a real joust. We had to root for the bad knight though which put a damper on things. But some people get really into it, it was crazy! We hadn't really experienced a "rough crowd" until we were headed out. Some girls in the bathroom seemed to be looking to start a fight with people, they were apparently mad that the bathroom was so narrow...but I just said to my girls, "remember the story I told you before"....

The night before everyone seemed interested in going to Jellyrolls so we had plans to meet up with the guys there.

47024_490401444691_768104691_6972144_3508963_n.jpg

DSIL decided to request a song, but she wouldn't tell anyone what it said so I knew something was up. An hour later they finally got to it and she had wanted them to play "Another One Bites the Dust" but they decided it would be much better for DH and I to come on stage.

41200_490402239691_768104691_6972168_6739515_n.jpg

and I knew exactly which song they would make us do to, that tree one!

44824_490402099691_768104691_6972160_6781361_n.jpg

It was embarrassing but also a lot of fun. And later on, DH's GM also requested a song and put a note about his buddy getting married, hoping that would guarantee them playing it. Well they didn't know his song.... so they made DH go on stage and do the chicken dance! Luckily they didn't realize I was there too!

There is a video of it too, but the staff there get really bent out of shape if you try to record anything and told us we had to delete it. I don't get what the big deal was. We all had a great time though, and a few people actually went back a few other nights, although DH and I never made it back.

Next up: Epcot, Wedding Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner

Oh, I love the updates! My friends and fam all thought I was crazy too at first, running for FP's and from ride to ride, but once they caught on, they were worse than me :lmao:

The towel cake is so cute. I actually got a cute towel christmas tree when I was there, and still put it up in my washroom at Christmas time, so if you find it, you could put it in there?

That is scary about the "rough crowd" at medieval times. I would have totally turned around for fear I would have bruises before my wedding (I'm a wimp though). I'm glad you had a good time there!

My one regret is not going to Jelly Roles. I love your pics there, they are so cute. I am definitely stopping by on the next trip!

I think we had the same room as you at the GF.

I'll be back to catch up on all your updates in a couple of weeks.

Great update! I always wanted to go with a bunch of people to one of the parks! sounds like you guys had fun. Wow I can't believe a CM got beat up at Medieval times. thats so funny because i've been a bunch of times to the one in Illinois and the one in New Jersey....and i've never seen anything crazy like that. Last time I went we had the bad guy too. but i thought it was funny.

i'm glad you guys had fun at Jellyrolls. its great that they dragged you on stage! we want to try Jellyrolls when we go next time. Thats weird about the video...didn't know there was much in disney you couldn't record or photograph.

Sounds like you had such a blast! If you don't mind me asking...where did you go to get your nails done? I need a place and am starting to make calls :)

I love Medieval Times btw i've been before

Loving your TR so far!
And I agree let us know where you got your nails done, I have several nail salons pin pointed near AKL now but haven't had a chance to try any out.

I am thinking my ladies and I should go out for some pampering!

Sounds like you had a great day for the most part. The towel cake was adorable. That's crazy that people wanted to fight. Jellyrolls looked like fun but I can't believe they wouldn't let you keep the video.

Just so you know, when we were there on Conceirge, we also stopped everytime we went to the room the get a little something.....it is so hard not too :) Can't wait to hear more.

Lol, they did think I was pretty nutty but they soon saw the benefits ;). I thought it was so cute too and the Mousekeeper especially told us to take it. I hope it does turn up. I totally thought the CM was joking about that...but now I can totally see how that could happen. Jelly Rolls is so fun! We don't make it there every trip, but we try. You'll have a great time and that's the best part about Disney, always something new to do. :goodvibes

I think we had the same room as you at the GF.

Wasn't it an awesome room? Have a great trip and I can't wait to see all your pics when you get back. I'm so jealous you're in Disney now, I want to go back so bad.

We weren't sure if it would be really stressful or really fun, and it was actually a little bit of both. But we really had a great time and it was especially fun because almost everyone else hadn't been in a really long time and I few hadn't ever gone! Isn't that crazy?! I really thought they were joking! I think it put a damper on things because he clearly wasn't going to win, but with the other guys you didn't know so I think more fun to root for them.

Jelly Rolls was really fun! I'm not sure why but we had someone record it both times we, well DH, was up on stage and both times the bouncer came over and told them they had to delete it, so it's definitely a rule.

Sounds like you had such a blast! If you don't mind me asking...where did you go to get your nails done? I need a place and am starting to make calls :)

Thanks Girls! We went to Magic Nails, I went to their website and it looks like the Lake Buena Vista location. They did a really nice job and I am very picky because back home manicures and pedicures are pretty cheap and they do an awesome job. The only thing is I'm not sure what they used because it was such a pain to take off later in the week, I had to use a towel with nail polish remover and really scrub to get it off. The good thing is it also lasted a lot longer than it usually does back home. ;)

It was a really fun day! I was so excited, we've never gotten towel animals before. It was so ridiculous, it was because they couldn't walk out of the bathroom as quickly as they wanted to because there was a line and it was really narrow. Luckily as NY'ers we know how to avoid eye contact with the crazies ;). Lol, well they didn't want us to keep the video...but we did! :rolleyes1

It was so hard not to! We had to walk past the food anytime we went to or from the room, so why not grab a cookie too? I do really miss those cookies and the evening cheese. :)

Today we planned to do Epcot for a while before the Rehearsal. I'm not sure if it was something I ate, or if it was just running around so much the day before but I woke up in the middle of the night and got really sick. Since DH had slept in the day before he agreed to meet everyone at Epcot and I would join them for lunch.

After sleeping for a bit and having some club goodies, I was feeling much better. I was running a little late though and it took forever for the monorail to come. To make matters worse I was meeting them at Biergarten which is pretty much as far from the Epcot entrance as you can get :headache:. I was lucky enough to catch a Friendship, which turned out to be really lucky because it started raining! So I got there a little late, but they had seated everyone already so at least they weren't all waiting for me.

DH and I have always wanted to go to Biergarten but we're not really a fan of sitting with random people. So this was really the perfect time to try it out and we all really liked it! The food was really good, and there was a huge variety. I loved the theming of the restaurant, it was so cute inside. We liked it so much, we may even be willing to sit with random people and go again.

IMG_1364.jpg

and since DH's Grandma didn't get her beer at Liberty Tree Tavern she made sure she got one here :lmao:. She could barely lift it, the glass was huge!
IMG_1363.jpg

It was a little too dark for her though, so she didn't drink much of it, luckily there were a few guys there willing to help her out!

IMG_1369.jpg
IMG_1367.jpg
IMG_1368.jpg

Afterwards it was pretty much time to head back to the hotel for the rehearsal. I was a little sad because this was our only Epcot day and I didn't get to do anything. I had really wanted to see Captain EO and we didn't even have time for that. :sad2:

We took the monorail back and then it was a mad race to the room to get all our wedding stuff together so that we could give it to Karen. It was pretty clear we weren't going to be even remotely on time and it was a lot of stuff to carry so we went to the front desk to see if we could have a golf cart drive us over, and it was no problem. :thumbsup2 So that got us there quickly so we weren't ridiculously late. Karen was really nice about it though and said they couldn't start without us anyway and it happens all the time. ;)

First we went with Karen into the Groom's room and went over the table layout. Then Rev Day came in and we went over the ceremony quickly. After that Karen gathered everyone to tell them how to walk in and things like that.

Here we are listening intently.
IMG_1371.jpg

The Unity candle thing was a big stressor for both mothers and us!
IMG_1376.jpg

IMG_1381.jpg
IMG_1393.jpg
IMG_1395.jpg

Rev Day walks you through everything you need to do, stand here, say this, walk here, etc. He is really such a sweet man and it felt like we already knew him.

Although apparently he feels very strongly about Unity Candles, lol, this is us getting yelled at because we aren't doing it right . The candle wouldn't light so it was really hard to hold both our tapers together and light it.
IMG_1403.jpg

IMG_1406.jpg

Afterwards we went through even more details...
IMG_1411.jpg

And my FG kept asking to see the "Magic Castle" in the window, so afterwards she got to. :)
IMG_1416.jpg

Our Rehearsal dinner that night was at Fulton's so we said goodbye to everyone and walked back to our room to get ready.

Up next: Rehearsal Dinner

Great updates. I love the Jellyrolls pics as we plan on going there on the night of our wedding. REALLY looking forward to your Fultons update as you know we are getting married on Fultons. Loving your report :goodvibes

I love the fact that he made you light your unity candle lol that is awesome! :rotfl2:

I am going to wear Mickey bride ears for mine too :)

It was a little too dark for her though, so she didn't drink much of it, luckily there were a few guys there willing to help her out!

:rotfl2: My dad got one of those when we went to Biergarten, and we found its hugeness so hilarious that we all took pictures exactly like these with it!
Loving the report so far, your FG wanting to see the 'magic castle' is so sweet!!! :cutie:

I'm glad to hear grandma final got her beer....even if it was more than she bargained for! DH ordered a beer flight when we were there, and now he is mad that he didn't know you could get such huge beers there, so he is making me try to book there in December :lmao:

That is so cute that your FG wanted to see the castle! I understand, I always want to see it too :goodvibes

Whew! So glad you managed to make it out to Epcot, got worried there for a bit, I am sorry you weren't feeling so good and that you missed out on such a large chunk of your day.

Ahahahaha! I love Biertgarten! If you and your DH ever need dining partners for it and we coincide on trips we gotta coordinate so we can share a table.

We have gone several times and we usually get nice random people. Once we went during October and they had this Oktoberfest thing going. The band pulled me out of my table and crowned me princess of the Germany pavilion, then I had to dance polka with a complete stranger who was crowned prince as well. :rotfl2:

My DH was laughing sooo hard he nearly hurt himself, he is so bad! I am still trying to exact my revenge, maybe one day... I am just glad no photos were taken, he was too busy laughing himself silly.

Your grams is priceless! We had dinner at Biertgarten during the food and wine fest with a large group or adults one year and we had been dragging this rubber ducky with us all trip long, making the characters take pictures with it, we actually dropped the ducky into the glass to illustrate how huge it was once we were done with the beer... we barely managed to rescue the poor thing.

I can't wait to hear more!!!

Jellyrolls is so fun, they'll definitely make a big deal if you go the night of your wedding. Fulton's was really awesome, it'll be amazing for your wedding. :goodvibes

I love the fact that he made you light your unity candle lol that is awesome! :rotfl2:

I am going to wear Mickey bride ears for mine too :)

He definitely did, only it wouldn't light! And then he sort of yelled at us for doing it wrong , but luckily on the wedding day there were no problems. ;)

I really wish I had worn my ears more often, it was so hot I really didn't want to be bothered with them most of the time, but I think they look really cute in the rehearsal pics and make up for the fact that we otherwise don't look so great :rotfl:

:rotfl2: My dad got one of those when we went to Biergarten, and we found its hugeness so hilarious that we all took pictures exactly like these with it!

Lol, I think it must inspire that in people, it was so ridiculous, and I couldn't believe his Grandma had ordered it of all people. Thanks!

She was so cute, she kept asking my sister if they could go see the magical castle and she was so excited about it.

LOL - love your Gram and the giant beer!! Great TR so far - can't wait to see more! popcorn::

It was so funny and she was just so matter of fact about it that that was what she wanted . More coming up. :)

It's so funny because she hardly ever drinks beer, but she had a beer at 50's PTC too, so that was the second lunch with a beer. Lol, well she said it wasn't the size of the beer, she just would have preferred the taste of a paler beer. Lol, I know, I was surprised my DH didn't try to get one! Have a great time in December, I'm so jealous, I wish I was going back!

Whew! So glad you managed to make it out to Epcot, got worried there for a bit, I am sorry you weren't feeling so good and that you missed out on such a large chunk of your day.

Yeah, it was not looking good, but luckily I made a speedy recovery and I pretty much felt fine for the rest of the time in Disney, so it was probably just something I ate, or running around too much.

Omg, that is so funny! The Princess of the Germany Pavilion! Well I'd be honored to go with you there if timing works out one day, after all, it's not all the time we can dine with Royalty! ;) We really liked it there.

She really is funny, and they would always be trying to get her to rest and not do things and she would be so annoyed. They wouldn't let her go on TSM because they thought it would be too much for her, and the whole rest of the trip she talked about how she really wanted to do that and she didn't understand why they wouldn't let her!

Tonight was our Rehearsal dinner at Fulton's in Downtown Disney. DH and I had eaten there for the first time during our PS trip and thought it would be perfect and it was.

I really can't say enough good things about Fulton's. The room was set up very nicely. The service was great and the food was delicious. I think everyone really enjoyed themselves.

We had about 30 people at the dinner which made it really easy to talk to everyone and it was great to catch up with everyone the day before the wedding.

Here are some pictures of the room. We were in the 3rd Deck Lounge but also had access to the deck outside.

table set-up, we had three round tables that seated up to 10.

the bar area

the view from outside, the outdoor area is actually really large and if you walk all the way around you can see parts of SSR and all of DTD. Everyone really enjoyed getting pictures with different backgrounds.

they had printed menus for us, which I thought was a nice touch and I definitely prefer that than just being told the choices.
IMG_1431.jpg

The choices were a NY Strip Steak, Chicken or King Crab Legs. I don't have a picture of the chicken or the steak, but the I had the steak and it was really good. It was very tender too. The weird thing is that one of the GM asked for a steak knife and they refused to bring him one :confused3, which was even stranger because they were so accommodating with everything. The steak was so tender though that you really didn't need one anyway. ;)

here's a picture of the crab legs, the platter was huge and I heard very good, but I don't eat seafood so I couldn't really say.

the best option I think though was the kid's meal. If I had known what it was, I would totally have gotten this! :lovestruc
44328_782284957668_15721916_42795558_5117478_n.jpg

That's right, your eyes do not deceive you, that is in fact macaroni and cheese topped with goldfish and a side of french fries! All my favorite carbs!

The best part, dessert! It was a cheesecake tart with mango and raspberry sauce and it was very tasty.
45652_782286075428_15721916_42795614_5641267_n.jpg

Aside from the weird steak knife refusal thing, the service really was great. Our FG really enjoyed sitting up by the bar and the bar tender would entertain her. He made her a chefs hat and even brought out a pan and spatula so she could play chef. She then asked him to get her some "pretend vegetables" :rotfl: and he went to the back and got a bunch of bottle corks and told her they were squash :lmao:.

And we could even see some fireworks from the deck! I think it was Illuminations, but I'm not really sure.

Afterwards DH and I went to the World of Disney store since we hadn't gotten the parent gifts yet... oops! Only DH had to use the restroom and I was wandering around the store and we almost lost each other! We must have spent over 30 minutes looking for each other in the store. Luckily we found each other because we were getting married the next day!

Up next: Wedding Day!

I'm glad you guys enjoyed Biergarten. I'm sure it was fun with a bunch of people! Sucks that you didn't get to do anything at Epcot though.

Glad your rehearsal went well! I love that you wore your ears for it.

Rehearsal dinner looks great! Its so nice that you had your own room and everything! I've never eaten there but now I think I should try it! that dessert looks amazing. btw your dress is really pretty.

What an awesome bartender! Sounds like you have a really fun time there and I can't wait to read about the wedding!

PS We went to Medieval Times here in NJ and it's not as cool as you think it's going to be.. :(
