DD6 say something on a DVD about Santa and his raindeer being at DL. I found something called Santa's Raindeer Roundup when websurfing, I'm assuming it's the same thing? Can kids actually pet the raindeer and sit on Santa's lap and talk to him? Is Santa there the whole time the Christmas decorations are up? Thanks!

Santa is at reindeer roundup. You can sit on his lap and photopass photographer will take pictures. We have some good ones of him talking to our younger daughters. Also his reindeer are there and even Mrs. Claus. I don't think you can pet the reindeer (they have antlers). He is there up until Xmas Day, when he goes home to rest after a long night.

Santa is also at the hotels and in DCA as well.

Did he get back to DCA last year? He was annoyingly gone in '08. (funny...we don't even "do" the Santa thing at home, which is how I was raised as well, but at Disney everything goes out the window, LOL)

The Santa in DL is awesome. He looks much better, and is much more jolly, than when he is at our local mall. Well worth the wait. I'm not sure what time he leaves, but I don't believe he is there in the evenings. But don't miss walking by that area at night....the lights over there are really pretty. And they stand out because it is kind of a dark part of the park.

I believe he was in DCA last year.....just behind (south of ?) Ariel's restaurant. There was a gazebo type thing set up. But this is a really fuzzy memory. Maybe someone else can confirm. I'll have to look for pictures.

The previous time we had seen him in DCA, he was in Sunshine Plaza had a Hawaiian shirt on, and was surrounded by a surfing theme (boards, etc.)

He was definitely there last year - we saw him in November. :goodvibes

Yes, Santa was in DCA last year where a previous poster described, in the gazebo near Ariel's Grotto. Last year's DCA Santa was Victorian themed and looked really cool.

Also, I'm not sure exactly when Santa leaves the Round-Up area for the day, but I think it's around 5 or 6 since Santa needs to appear in the evening parade. I think he starts each day at the Round-Up at 10 AM.

We do not know for sure that Santa will be back in DCA this year. There's too much work going on in DCA this year to be able to tell what they will do with him. Santa was most definitely not in DCA in 2008, so they could easily remove him from there again this year and then bring him back when all the work is complete. It seems as though the Halloween decorations and 'celebration' have been scaled down in DCA considerably this year from what they were in the last 3 years, so Santa may be the next casualty.

Santa usually appears at the Paradise Pier Hotel in the morning hours. He appears at the Disneyland Hotel in the afternoon. Santa appears with a PhotoPass photographer in the Grand Californian Hotel at night. The GCH Santa spot is the only location of the 3 hotels with a PhotoPass person.

So Santa will be in at least 4 places, possibly 5, in Disneyland Resort.

scldir,

Come join our Disney at Christmas super thread. Not only do we have a lot of questions, answers and info being shared on many holiday-related topics and sub-topics, but there are fabulous photos sprinkled throughout the thread.

Seeing Santa in DL at the Reindeer Round-up is definitely one of our best Disney memories! Don't forget your autograph books! Where else can you get Santa's autograph?!!!!!!!

He was definitely in DCA last year, we saw him at the gazebo on the pier behind AG multiple times. :) Of course we didn't expect him with the construction but he was there. As for this year who knows? It's hard to know what Disney will do year to year. :)
