One of the things I'm most excited about is seeing Santa at DLP :) My littlest girl definitely still believes. My 8 year old I think is just going along with it now but she's still very much a fan ;)

I've heard that there are long queues - any tips on how to manage this? We'll be there Thu PM-Sun eve. Do you have to pay extra and does he give the kids pressies? Any official photo opportunities?

Thanks in advance for any replies! I imagine all my Christmas questions will be coming out now because our trip is finally getting nearer :D

If you are going out of school holidays go and see him on the Thursday depending on what time you arrive as it will be even quieter than the Friday.

As always at DLP avoid the weekend if you can especially for this sort of thing.

There's no extra charge, no presents are given out but you can take photos. No idea about official ones never having queued up myself. Would feel a bit daft tbh

They also have normally a place where you can write a letter to FC and you will eventually (often after Christmas) get a reply :goodvibes

We did this last year and the Santa we saw was amazing. We ended up queing for over an hour to see him, and this was despite making heading over to him our first priority after EMH's so my advise would be to get there as soon as you can. You can pick up letter and envelopes just outside the grotto and we got a postcard reply after the new year.

We went midweek at the start of last years Christmas season and waited 10 minutes if even to see him. There is a professional photog but you can take your own pics too.

Thanks all, sounds great! Carrie, if there's anywhere an adult can queue to see Santa without any kids in tow, it's Disneyland :) Sounds lovely.. I think I'll aim for either Thursday afternoon or Friday first thing :)

Agree that trying mid week is better than the weekend and that is our plan. We arrive mid afternoon on the Thursday and will be checking in/dropping off our bags and making Santa our first priority (might even get DH/DSD to drop bags off and catch us up if we have to go and queue!).

Not sure what time you arrive pm? I think the park will close by 8 pm at the latest - maybe even 7 pm - I keep looking for opening hours but they are not released yet.

I think the Friday will be busy (lots of people take long weekends, and Saturday and Sunday will be very busy, although I do believe the weekends get busier as you get nearer to Christmas, so early Dec might not be as bad as the few weekends after that (I say that hopefully!! :rotfl2:).

It's not long now - getting very excited :yay:.

I tnink we arrive at around 1.30, we're coming on the Eurostar :) I had a quick look at opening hours for the same week last year and I think it'll close at 7pm as you say. Not sure if that means Santa will be available til 7pm though!

I think we'll aim for Thu but if it looks busy or there's too much other stuff going on we'll go for Fri, as early as possible, before the weekend crowds arrive :)

We've been thinking of this too, we will arrive around lunchtime Thursday too in November so will try to do it Thursday or the Monday before we leave! x my three year old is so excited! And I'm so excited that my 6month olds first Christmas, and first time to meet Santa we will be at dlp! X
