looking for reviews on the Sanna? what are you thoughts? looking to try it there for the first time on our upcoming trip.

thanks!

I love Sanaa! It is the one place I always recommend when guests ask me for resort recommendations. I posted a full review with pictures on my blog, lizzieindisney.blogspot.com, or on my dining reviews thread. Both links are in my signature. Have an amazing time, I LOVE that place!

Sana'a is a fine place to eat, and our experience, never has it been crowded. If you prefer standard American fare, then you may find the spices and dishes served there a bit adventurous for your taste. However, if you are a fan of curries, mint, coriander, tamarind, and veggies and legumes such as cucumber, beets, chickpeas, and lentils, then this is your kind of place. Certainly, you can find mild, fairly familiar dishes at Sana'a such as butter chicken and beef short ribs, but even those will have a slightly exotic flair to them. They have soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside na'an (flatbread) which come with a few different sauces, some spicy-hot, some just aromatically spicy--regardless, the na'an and sauces are delectable and filling. Many people order, and rightfully so, one of the tandoori dishes. My personal favorite is the lamb--just the right amount of curry, heat, and fragrance, plus the meat was tender and juicy. If you enjoy wines as I do, you'll find a very nice list with largely S. African selections on them. I forget the vinter's name for red I had with my lamb last time (it was listed as the chef's suggested pairing), but I do know it was a dark-berry, moderately tannin, supple Pinotage--a spot-on match. As for the white wines, I'm in love with S. African selections--they are vibrant, zesty, and full of delightful citrus notes. Sana'a has plenty to choose from. Overall, I highly recommend Sana'a. It's off the beaten trail to some extent, but it's well worth the effort to go there. On a side note, for our last visit we were seated next to a window (floor to ceiling windows) and saw giraffes, zebras, gnus, and some funky bird (crested ibis?) that kept peering in the window hoping to get fed, I suspect. What a fun experience! Go. Eat. Enjoy. Slainte! :thumbsup2

Most of the posters on this board love it, we like many types of food, but Sanaa was not a winner for us...:rolleyes1 (:firefight-it's ok to flame, I'm used to it every time I post our dislike for this establishment here...;))

We tried it because of so many positive posts here...:sad1:

We ate there with some picky non-adventerous eaters and everyone loved it! It was one of our top dinners of the trip. The picky ones ordered mild dishes but all around we gave it thumbs up.

LOVE Sanaa!!! Definitely a must do for us each trip. The food is great, the service is wonderful and the décor and location are the best. Can't wait for May!!! :goodvibes

We love Sanaa. I always order the sustainable fish, yummy! The bread service is good and my ds always orders a cheeseburger, I know, pretty normal, but he swears its the best burger on property!

Sanaa has amazing Indian dishes and the setting is so beautiful. I have dined twice there and loved it!!

We love Sanaa. There are reviews of Sanaa in each of my WDW dining reports (links below). There are also some pics for you! I would say try it. The service has always been good, the views of the animals are neat, and the food is tasty and presented in a lovely fashion. It is truly a unique experience.

What is the sustainable fish?

Sanaa was a highlight for us the other night.
Food was exceptional. The sustainable fish was corvina. White fish comparable in texture to sea bass, according to a waiter.

Yes our sustainable fish for the night we were there was corvina also. I hadn't had it before, but enjoyed. Agree with the above-it was white, light flavored and flaky. Reminded me a bit of halibut or even seabass in taste and texture.

I have never heard of it before but does sound good. Thanks

Even if the food were lousy the view at Sanaa is to die for!! Fortunately, the food is absolutely delicious! Unusual flavors but not so different that it is completely unfamiliar. Also good portion sizes. My parents and I split the bread service and two entrees and were full (but with room for dessert):goodvibes

does anyone know how active the animals are around sunset and if you actually get a good view? i have been wanting to go to AKL but since we will be there in November sunset is at 5:30 so I booked a 5pm meal. i would hate not to see a single animal.

glad to hear the fish is good, my mother prefers mainly seafood.

Obviously, that will be a different season with shorter days, but our three weeks ago was also 5 p.m., and we had several animals to view during the meal. Naturally, there's never a guarantee. Still, best of luck and enjoy! :thumbsup2
