Sanford

Having always flown into Orlando Int. I am used to the car pick up process there (DW always gets the luggage whilst I sort out the car) but how does the car hire bit work at Sanford ? I have been told that the whole process from plane to being on the road is a lot quicker. Are there any tips to make this as smooth as possible?

Hi Tony

We arrived at Sanford and have to say that the whole process was painless and very quick.

Straight out of luggage collection into the Dollar rent a car where they had all our details to hand. They keys were handed over and we were taken to our vehcle.

The staff were extremely polite and helpfull.

We requested to fly to Sanford this time because it all seamed to be far less stressfull than some of the stories we had heard when you land at Orl Int.

It is a longer drive to Disney, but as you know the roads are quite good and the map that they give you is very good.

I would agree! It is so much easier from Sanford. We got through the airport really quickly and straight into our hire car. We have done it twice and have been really impressed both times. It is an easy journey from the airport to Orlando. Put it this way, if I could follow the directions, anyone can!!!

That seems very easy. Is the dollar desk inside the airport building as it is in Orl Int ?

Last time the car hire at International was very quick with only one or two people in the queue but then you have to add in the extra time what with the double baggage reclaim and the 3 x-rays etc etc... And of course the long queues at immigration - and having the surname Bush has never helped me !!

Dollar car rental desks are in a small separate building only yards from the arrivals hall of Sanford.
