Hello everyone!

I just booked a flight from Kalamazoo to SFB on Direct Air. It will be my first experience with Direct as well as flying into SFB. I couldn't pass up the 50% off discount, even though I know it might end up the same price as going into MCO. I literally can WALK to my Kalamazoo airport so it seems worth it in the price I would pay for gas to Detroit and car parking fees.

Ok so onto my question! What have you found is the best way to get from SFB to WDW. I have looked into a rental car and as of now they are $350 for the week. (May 11-18). I was wondering if anyone has done one way rentals from SFB to WDW the day of arrival and departure? We are staying at the Boardwalk and I know that the Swan has a car rental service, can't remember which one. So what have your experiences been?

(SIDE NOTE: We cannot do a town car service because the night we arrive we are staying off property.)

I just flew out of Sanford yesterday, using DirectAir. We get a rental car. But I did see a sign for American Coach Lines there. They had a phone set up so you could just call them and get a ride. The signage did say to attractions and hotels..but didn't elaborate any further. You could go to their website and request a quote for your needs.

We have always rented a car and driven from Sanford. Rentl cars are crazy right now. Keep watching and look for a thread for rental cars for you time period. Hopefully you will be able to find something reasonable closer to your date.

I book a rental car, often thrifty, and drive to WDW. Keep looking for discounts and specials. I check with www.mousesavers.com frequently for car rental savings. HTH

Go with a rental car. I would book with them now, and do the rental car game. Most likely by the time your trip comes around, the rate will be much lower.:cool1:

Thanks everyone!

I do have a reservation made. I made one for the entire stay at the best price I could find.

I also made 2 different ones for just the day of arrival and departure as it is 1/2 the price of renting for the full week.

I'll keep my eye out and join in on the rental car game!

Can't wait to hear how it goes. We have always flown from Detroit too but we're staying off property this time so the convenience of flying from Kalamazoo sounds very appealing. Gotta love no 2 hour drive!

You can priceline from Sanford (it is listed as Central Florida Regional on their dropdown list, but it's SFB).

Except during holiday weeks/special events, you can usually PL a full-size from an airport location in Florida for around $16/day, plus taxes and fees.

PS: It's actually early in the game to be reserving a car other than on a holiday. You get better results no more than about 3 months out, IME.
