Sanford car rental, please help!?

I am hoping that someone can help me out with this. We are looking to rent a car from Sanford airport June 4th at 3:30pm and return it June 11th at 8:00am. We need something big enough for two adults, DD13, and DS 6. I have been trying all the codes, along with the entertainment book coupons. The lowest rate that I got was through Thrifty for 182.15 including taxes. I know that the rate isn't terrible, but I was getting a little frustrated because the rates are so much lower at MCO. However, it IS MUCH cheaper for us to fly into Sanford at this point. So, my question is has anyone been able to get a cheap rental car rate at Sanford Airport?

The lowest I can get through Sanford/Alamo is $315.00 for Feb 3-13th for a premium. I have been trying for 3 months constantly and cannot get it any cheaper. I guess I am with you though will take the cheaper airfare into Sanford and suck it up a little on the car rental.

Are you flying Allegian Air by chance? If so, look on their web page. When you order tickets through them, you can also book a car rental. From what I remember, the rentals were pretty reasonable.

Yes we are flying Allegiant Air. I did check their car rental rates and they aren't too bad ($150). However, when you read the fine print it says taxes and fees are not included in the price. I appreciate the info though.

I am definitely with you Kimba1818 on sucking up the rental cost at this point. Maybe we'll get lucky and the prices will drop a few dollars. It is still frustrating that MCO is so much cheaper though.
