I have done a search on this on the boards but I am not finding anything very recent. Four of us are flying in on May 4 to Orlando Sanford at 9:30 pm and need transportation to Disney. I realize we could rent a car, but my husband would really like to either do a shuttle or towncar. Is there any that are reputable that you could recommend?

We used Tiffany Towncar from MCo to Universal and were pleased with the service. $110 round trip. This includes a grocery stop if you want.

Thank you! We looked into this but was quoted over 200, is there a special discount or anything?

You asked about Orlando-Sanford (SFB), but barb969 replied about Orlando International (MCO).

Sanford is around twice as far from WDW as Orlando International, so car and limo services charge around twice as much.

I would recommend using this forum's Search function to look for other threads about Sanford.

With it being nearly an hour ride each way you likely won't find anything under $200. Makes one think twice about weather it worth it to fly into Sanford since the cost to get to WDW is so expensive.

Ok so I will plan on not paying less than $200 however I am most interested in knowing what towncar or shuttle services are reputable. The one person said Tiffany Towncar, anyone have any other suggestions?

Did you try this forum's Search function?

Please don't interpret my suggestion to use Search as me being being snotty or unhelpful. I really want to help. I know there have been many previous Transportation threads about Sanford on this forum. If you search, you'll find experiences and suggestions regarding car services, a shuttle bus service, and rental cars.

Actually, the search here is often useless.

You are much better off googling "disboards.com: sanford shuttle"or "disboards.com: sanford transportaion"

Renting a car is going to be the cheapest and easiest option.

If depends on what you're searching for.

I agree that using Google is better when doing a search for something that's not time sensitive and/or that involves complex search arguments. Google will try to present the most relevant results, even if those results are from 2005.

However, the DISboards Search function can be very good for finding recent posts that include a unique keyword, such as Sanford. Before I suggested Search to the OP, I tried Sanford myself. A bunch of recent, useful results came up in the DISboards Transportation Forum.

The drive from Sanford airport to Disney is not difficult if you take HWY 417, especially at that time of day. It is a low stress 2 lane (each way) highway. Sanford area is not difficult. I think there was 3 turns to get to 417. Red Cleveland BLVD (exits the terminal) to East Lake Mary BLVD to Ronald Reagan BLVD to 417. Once you are on 417 (mile marker 46) it is smooth sailing, except for a few toll booths, to mile marker 6 for Epcot center drive or mile marker 2(?) I think for World Center drive. I really don't like Interstate 4 (4 lane each way) but I'm not a very brave driver. Check in, bring the car to the car care center and you have maybe a 2 hour rental.

I-4 is three lanes each way most of the time and it is a nasty road. I live here and avoid it whenever possible.

I've used Tiffany Towncar at Sanford. Very good experience. I now rent a car when flying into Sanford. The drive is easy. But, if you don't want to drive, just use a car service.

I noticed Allegiant is listing an option of airport shuttle for around $62. I have not seen that option before.

Allegiant does a shuttle for $62pp but with a family of 4, a town car will be just as expensive but quicker, as the shuttle does multiple resort stops. We fly Allegiant into Sanford a few times a year, and have always used Tiffany Town Car. $140 one way including tip, about $240 round trip including tip.

This :thumbsup2
If you are flying Allegiant I saw the transport on their site $60 a person when we flew in. That would be $240 round trip....for less than that you could have a car all week.

I'm not sure if it's an airport shuttle, or private.

Allegiant offers shared motor coach transportation from Orlando Sanford International Airport to the Walt Disney World area using Horizon Coach Lines.

For more information: http://www2.allegiantair.com/airport-shuttle-sfb-horizon

The motor coach could make numerous stops ("shuttle service is provided to all hotels and resorts on the International Corridor, Orlando, DisneyWorld Resorts, Lake Buena Vista and Kissimmee") before you arrive at your resort.

Considering the cost and how much longer it's likely to take compared to driving, I would rely on car rentals (if that's an acceptable option) -- either one car for the entire vacation, or a separate one-way rental at each end of the vacation. However, the OP prefers not to rent a car.
