Sanford Airport to AoA

We are thinking about about taking Allegiant Airlines on our next trip to WDW and they only fly to Sanford airport. We are not planning on renting a car so we will probably Uber it to our resort. Since we have never done this before, we were wondering how much this will cost? Is there a better option (e.g. private car, shuttle) that won't break the bank? Thanks in advance for helping us out.

I'm not sure how many people are in your party if you require car seats etc.

Sanford is further away. If you are a small party it might be worth it to just rent a car. There are no parking fees at AoA and since you are staying on property you can drive to Animal Kingdom and park for free. Disney Springs parking is free for all and of course you can skyliner to Epcot and HS but you might want to drive closer to the skyliner station depending on where you are staying. MK you still want to bus to though as you would have to park at TTC.

These are rates from Sanford to AoA Little Mermaid rooms to get you an idea for Lyft.

I've found Lyft to be cheaper than Uber in Orlando. Rideshare is going to be the least expensive way to get there. Allegiant flies into both MCO and SFB.

There are 68 cities going into SFB vs 4 going into MCO. I’m assuming OP’s home airport is not one of the 4.

We have used Tiffany Towncar to get from Sanford to Disney hotels, but I doubt it's cheaper than Uber/Lyft.

If you go the Uber/Lyft route, (a) have both on your phone because you never know which will be cheaper at any given time, and (b) if you don't already have Lyft on your phone, wait until shortly before your trip to download the app because sometimes they give discounts with expiration dates.

Some people book Allegiant because that's all they can get from their home airport. But if you have other airline options, make sure you price out everything before deciding what's cheaper. Different airlines charge for different things (checked bag, carry on bag, seat selection, etc.), so you have to look into that as well as the cost of getting to the hotel from the airport.

I have Uber and Lyft both downloaded on my phone and then I check to see which one is cheaper when we land. There is a little area where you meet the cars and it is super easy. There are also taxis just sitting there, but I’ve always assumed they are more expensive

Depends on what surge pricing is doing. IME, Lyft is generally cheaper than Uber around Orlando. I booked a couple weeks ago from my hotel to Epic Universe, Lyft was $18 and Uber was $40.
