Sanford Airport Experience???

Anyone out there flew in or out of Sanford Airport? What was your experience like compared to MCO?



Our closest airport has non-stop flights (allegiant air) to Sanford. Am considering this option. I do know that ME is only available out of MCO. I was thinking of lining up sedan transportation to WDW and back.

We've flown Allegiant several times into Sanford and both Allegiant and the Sanford airport are fine. We do miss the convenience of ME but for the money we save, it's worth it. We've found that the cost of renting a car for a week and round trip limosine/sedan transportation from Sanford to WDW is about the same, so we rent a car. We don't use it much once we get to WDW, but it is very nice to have. The drive from the Sanford Airport to WDW is easy and well marked, and takes about an hour.

we fly allegiant into sanford all the time from allentown you will love it, very small, just a longer ride to disney, we rent from Dollar all the time the airport code is SFB..
use a code from mousesavers and remember you could drop the car rental off at the car care center or one of the close hotels after stopping for groceries and then pick it up at the end of your trip back to sanford airport..

I've got a question about Sanford. Has anyone noticed if it has a cell phone lot or the ability to wait with your car in an area close to the exit.

I'm driving down with the camper and hubby will be flying down for a portion of the trip.

We're considering Allegient for this trip because I'll have his stuff in the camper, so no checked bags, and I'll be able to pick him up since I'll have the truck, so won't need DME and the fare has the potential to be significantly less than Delta into MCO.
