Sandwiches & Salads at the Boardwalk Bakery

I guess last month when we stayed at the Boardwalk we never found the time to eat at the Boardwalk Bakery and when we tried to walk in to look at what they have available they were very busy, since it was hard to move in there. Now since we will be staying at the Boardwalk again this December I was wondering are their sandwiches & salads always made fresh each time you order them or are they pre-made earlier in the day?

They are pre-made. They are good though, especially if you need a quick meal. We actually ate breakfast there quite a bit.

DH and I shared a turkey bacon swiss sandwich from BW Bakery on our July trip. The sandwiches were pre-made and in the case where the pastries were. This sandwich was delicious though. It tasted very fresh. I don't know when they made it in relation to the time we bought it, but it was around 1pm when we got it and took it back to our villa for lunch. It was plenty big for the 2 of us too! We shared that and a tiramisu and it was a great lunch!

The turkey, bacon, swiss sandwich at Boardwalk Bakery is one of our favorites at WDW. We've had them at different times of day, and they've always tasted very fresh. We've had it 2x each of our last 2 trips. Once we get it with the fantastic carrot cake, and the other with the delicious chocolate cake. The sandwich, coupled with the dessert, is plenty for the 2 of us to share!!!

Like the others have said, they are pre-made. Just note that they usually run out of a few of the selections near the evening hours and don't make more. I've enjoyed the turkey/bacon and the tomato/mozzarella.

You may also want to try the store at Beach Club. I think the sandwiches there are made to order. And the salads are huge.

There is also a quick service at the Dolphin, called Picabu. They don't take any of the dining plans, but we were paying OOP on our July trip. One day we were at the Boardwalk pool from 10am until about 2pm. The boys wanted to wait until we got back into the villa to eat something, and DH was not hungry. At around 1pm, I was hungry and in the mood for a burger. Knowing that they didn't sell burgers at the BW Bakery, I walked over to Picabu at the Dolphin. I got the kids' burger because that was the perfect size for me. They made it to order, and then brought it out to me. It was delicious! This is a great place for a quick delicious lunch, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there!

That tomato/mozzarella sandwich is something else. We were staying at YC and I walked over to get lunch at the bakery. I brought it back, we ate the sandwiches, and I walked back and got another round. While pre-made, it was recently pre-made. Very delicious and not wet and messy, which would be the case if the tomatoes had been sitting on the sandwich for an hour or more.
