I am longing to find a pair of sandals to wear at the parks. My feet are tiny but wide. I hate the thought of wearing socks and sneakers everyday. They are sooo sweaty and stinky. Plus.....they aren't that cute. Basically a thong type that won't cause blisters. Always being the fashion savory person I am...a few years a go I bought these adorable sandals with a french heel. Well, wore them for an afternoon stroll in Central Park. Bad Idea. I could hardly walk the rest of my trip!!! So, please help me look cute but comfortable. Am not the birkenstock type either. Thanks!!!!

I absolutely love Clarks sandals...I wear their brand of sandals almost every day in the summer and the mules and boots in the autumn/winter. For long walking days in the summer or at WDW, I wear the canvas sandals. They are generally really nice looking - not too dressy but much nicer than flip flops or tennies - and extremely comfortable. I have worn them at WDW the last 5 trips we've taken and had no problems with blisters, etc. The bottoms are cloth and absorbent so no sticky, sweaty ick. I wore them one day with no problems and the next day I switched to reeboks and socks and thought my feet were going to kill me - not happy with the tennies.

You can get them at any nicer department store - Marshall Fields, Bloomingdales, even Kohl's or JCPenney. The discount shoe stores tend to have them too - can't think of the names, but the stores that have all the brand name shoes at lower prices...? They range in price from $30+ but are worth every penny. The canvas sandals are the least expensive...all of mine are slip ons - not thongs - but they do have those as well.

I prefer these sandals to tennies on the treadmill as well...they are just so comfortable AND I love how they look, too.

Good luck!!!

Oh - forgot to mention...they have some styles with velcro in them so the width is subtly adjustable ;)

Good luck with wedding plans!

Hi
I saw your post and had to reply. We were just at WDW and I bought crocs for all my family and I have the same problem small feet . Croc were great no socks and I wore them everyday and not one blister or sore feet complaints from me or any one in my family. I would swear by them now . Plus no one had to worry about wet shoes after going on the water rides .

Clarks did not work for me, but I have a few pairs of Merrell slide sandals that are so comfortable and don't look bad. On warm days that is all I wear.

Both my girls got HIDEOUS blisters at WDW from their Crocs. They had worn them for a month before our trip with no problem & thought they were the comfiest shoes. The first day at WDW the hinge thingy on the inside of their Crocs really rubbed them wrong. They didn't tell me until it was tooooo late and they had horrid, open blisters.

They can still wear them around home etc., but the Crocs didn't work too well for the long walking days at WDW.

We all like Merrells, Skechers (very cushy & comfy), and Tevas, but KEENS are our FAVE shoe for WDW (and home, too!)

Good luck! I think one of the most important things for a great WDW trip is happy feet. :flower:

My hubby and I have matching ( i know I know!) Keen sandals and LOVE them- No socks- just pure comfort and they can go in water too. We actually wore them on a cruise and even went snorkeling in them!!! And they are made for hiking so they are way comfortable!!!

I vote for Clarks. I wear a 6-1/2 wide shoe. I purchased Privo by Clarks Joyner sandals (size 7, they only come in whole sizes) about 2 weeks before our trip to WDW. I tried them out by wearing them to work in the OR all day, and found them to be very comfortable. They come in cute colors and have a perforated sole which allows air and water to pass through them, so your feet stay relatively cool and dry. They got completely soaked this summer in one of the Orlando June thunderstorms and dried by the next morning and looked great. I tried Crocs, but my toe bumped the tip of the shoe in the smaller size when I walked and my feet were sloshing around in the next size up and I had a hard time keeping them on.

I have 2 pairs of sketchers sandal/slides that I got from Victoria's Secret Catalog. They come in white, pink and black. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned and I have lived in them this past summer. They will definitely be coming with me to WDW in October.

I am really impressed with my Tevas! I've worn them all day at Hershey Park and numerous other places this Summer, without issue. And I even wore them for several days in a row at Colonial Williamsburg, where I did a lot of touring and walking over all sorts of surfaces (gravel roads, bricked pathways, etc.). They are not a bad looking sandal at all, and my goodness are they ever comfy. I'm actually looking forward to wearing them at WDW in a few weeks. :flower:

But what I truly suggest is to bring extra shoes. In the past I've had blisters from shoes that I wear all the time at home, but the extensive walking at WDW caused blisters. I was thankful to put on a different pair the next day that hit my feet in different locations. I have also bought new sneakers while at WDW at DTD, because I was sure I wanted to wear sandals and that was all I packed.
Good luck! Have a great time

I also love Tevas. I've worn them to WDW, Hershey Park, Maine etc. They're very comfortable and dry out quick too! I think I've had them on every day this summer with no complaint.

In May I carried two pair of Crocs and two pair of Tevas. My Teva mush flip flops and Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals were by far more comfortable than either pair of my Crocs. In fact, my Teva Nile sandals gave me my first ever blister. I'll be back down there Sept 17th-24th and will definitely have both pair of Tevas with me. I'm also carrying my Croc Beach to give them one more chance. By the way, I wear my Crocs around here every day to walk my dog and recently even bought another pair of Croc Niles. They're fine around here. They did not work for WDW however.

I highly recommned the Nike "Celso"....they may be a little hard to find this late in the season, but you should be able to find some online. Apx $25

Tevas Are The Only Way To Go
I Have Wide Feet And Have Wore Mine All Summer Without A
Single Blister Or Sore Feet

I have two suggestions:

1. Forget CUTE and go with COMFY - no one cares how you look at Disney, just be comfortable!

2. Bring several pairs of shoes (at least 2 pairs), and wear a different pair every day - helps prevent blisters.

I have a pair of Eastland flip flops - brown leather with a funky design on the top - that are the most COMFORTABLE shoes I've ever owned!! I've worn them every day since I got them! :lovestruc :rolleyes1 I got them from the Chadwicks catalog outlet for $5!! http://www.COBoutlet.com

I agree, forget style and go for comfort. No one is going to be looking at your feet.

My concern about open toe sandals would be the possibility of getting your toes stepped on with the crowds of people. Ouch!!

Another vote here for Keen's - they have been our best! DH and I both got them. I have a problem w/my foot and had NO PAIN with these, we both wore them everywhere.

Thanks for all your input, I just haven't seen any I like. I did find a pair of Born that looked comfy and cute. They were pretty expensive. I am wearing capris this trip and no Commando park hopping for us. Its our honeymoon and are just going to take our time. I have just about given up.

:cool1:

Thanks everyone sooo much for your help. I decided to just hit the stores today and find a pair of sandals. Well, after 4 hours....I found them! They are Clarks; black with a flower cut out on top. CUTE!!! And only $10.00!!!!

I feel like I am walking on little pillows. I will let you guys know in about 4 weeks!!!!!
