Sand Ceremony/Unity Candle

Could someone please explain these two things to me I've read about them in people's TR but don't know all the details.

All you do for the sand ceremony is you have two colors, one for you and DF... what you do is at the same time poor the sand into jar. It represents you both becoming one.

The unity candle is the same thing...Your parents will light your candle and DF parents will light his..then you both will take your candle and light the big one together.

For the Sand Ceremony where does everyone recommend you get the sand and containers from?

I bought my sand/containers directly from Disney. At my planning session, Rosie said that if we did it through them, they would have everything set up and ready to go. Easy as pie. Our colors were perfect and the container had a lid that fit perfectly (and snuggly). The jar started with the tan sand (but you can ask to not have that), each of our mothers brought in "our" colored sands in little vials, then during the ceremony DH and I poured our sand in, put the lid on, and then shook like crazy!

You can get them through Disney Floral. They are nothing fancy. If you want a fancy one then you can get them anywhere on line and get them engraved. Vanessa did that (figmentfan) and they were beautiful. Hopefully she will see this thread and be able to post a pic.

You can buy the containers from Disney and I have also seen them on the internet and Ebay. You can buy the sand from those websites as well and they also have colored sand in most craft stores.
