Sand Bucket meals!!!

Hey! I was reading in my Walt Disney Birnbaum book where you can get meals in a sand bucket at the CBR. I thought that sounded great for kids, but have never found anything else about them. Has anyone ever tried them or even heard about them. Any input would be great!!!

. . . the sandbucket meals at the YC are nothing special. The bucket is a very cheap small green one -- no Disney theming whatsoever -- with a white handle except that they don't give you the handle b/c they create some problem with the pool system. A kids' meal is packed in it and you pay extra if you opt ot get the bucket. We did once -- I wouldn't again. There are usually dozens of abandoned buckets at the pool.

My kids meals came in a sandbucket with shovel at TL. No extra cost.

The pool restaurant at Vero Beach used to serve food in sand buckets!!!

Two posts here sound contradictory, but they're not. Here's the explaination:

If you walk up and order a sand-bucket kids' meal, you're going to pay X amount. The sand-bucket is included in the price of the meal -- it does not cost extra. HOWEVER, if you don't want the bucket, you can ask for the meal WITHOUT the bucket, and they'll deduct a dollar or so from the price of your meal (making it quite a bargain by Disney standards).

Kids' meals are also a good option for adults who just had a buffet breakfast or who are planning a big dinner.

We just got back from CBR. At the CBR food court, the kids meal chicken nuggets come in a sand bucket with shovel, and the kids french toast sticks (at breakfast) also come in a bucket with shovel. I am not sure of the exact price, but I think they were about $6.00 each. It's just a plain little green bucket with blue shovel, but it's great for kids to use at the beach. My daughter loved it!
