Sanaa - what time for dinner?

we'll be traveling in January with two young children (9 mo and 4). I was considering Sanaa for a kid-appealing dinner one night with views of the animals, but sunset in Jan is at 5:40. Is this pointless or is there any lighting? If I remember right the sun drops pretty quickly in FL. We aren't really the type to leave a park for lunch and come back, because we're still in the afternoon nap stage - resort restaurants for lunch don't work for us. Should I eliminate savannah views as a consideration when picking a dinner spot, unless we eat super early? There are tons of other places available. Thanks!

Also interested in this! We are going in November and I'd like to book a meal there. I'm debating between a late lunch or early dinner. We are flying down and AKL is kind of a PItA to get to. I'm leaning toward a short AK day and a late lunch.

Dinner begins at 5:00. It won't be dark for a while after sunset. You would have at least a full hour of light. They do not illuminate the savannahs at night. However there will be CMs with night vision goggles at the overlook observation area behind Jambo House, if you want something interesting to do after dinner.

Or you could book dinner for a little later and spend the time around sunset out at the observation point ( accessible thru a door right beside the check in podium). Honestly, we like the food and ambiance of Sanaa so much that seeing the animals is far less important to us.
