We ate there last night...

First off, it is really hard to find..we couldn't figure out where to park and then it took two CM's to guide us to the restaurant!

The scallop appetizer was excellent, that was my favorite item that we ordered. The sustainable fish and the tandoori chicken were also very good.

We had the bread sampler where you choose 3 breads and 3 dips. It was good, nothing that impressive. The hummus was very good and the cucumber raita (sp) was similar to tzaki sauce. We also got the mango chutney which I didn't care for.

We had the salad sampler with the beet salad, carrot salad and the potato spinach salad. None of these were anything I would order again. The carrot salad was the best of the three, but still nothing I would order again.

We ordered both soups, tomato with paneer cheese and the tandoori chicken and vegetable. The tomato soup was good, nothing remarkable. The chicken soup was very tasty.

We got the desert sampler which had the chocolate eggless cake, no sugar added mango mousse, and an orange butter cake. The orange butter cake was disgusting, my guest had to spit it out. The chocolate cake was pretty good and the mango mousse was fine. Again, nothing I would be rushing back to get.

Overall, I would go back for the scallops alone, they were amazing! I would skip the salads next time and definately try the breads with dips again. It was a good meal, just steer clear of the orange dessert! :)

As far as atmosphere, it feels alot like Boma, the coolest part is that you can see out to the savannah and see the animals while you eat.

Thanks for your review! I'm on the fence about this restaurant, and think I will hold off for awhile.

Thanks for your review!! I honestly do not know if I will be trying it anytime soon.

I must admit I'm a little disappointed by your review. I had high hopes for Sanaa- hope the food gets better! At least it has great decor and a wonderful view...

Is Sanaa a new palce? And where is it
Thanks

Yes, Sanaa just opened Friday (May 1st). It is an Indian Ocean/African themed restaurant inside Animal Kingdom. Here's a link to more information and photos:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the review!
We have a dinner res for Saturday and really have been straddling the fence on that. And I am not normally a fence straddler.
Think I will go with my gut feeling, which is eat where I know I will really  the meal, and try Sanna another time. It just opened, so it will be around awhile and we will eat there some time.

Well, that kind of stinks that it wasn't that great...I guess I will have to go anyway to try it out.

Yes, do try it for yourself. This place has been open for dinner just 5 times, most people who may have tried it are probably still in WDW and have not had a chance to post reveiws, give it some time.

We are going in Sept and are excited to try Sanaa. I'm glad Disney finally saw fit to add Indian cuisine on site.

I just got back last night - went to Sanaa on Monday night and it was my favorite meal of the trip!!

Tandoori chicken was awesome as was the Chicken in Red Curry. Definately do the bread service! The Naan is made in house & is wonderful.

If you're prepared to wait a bit, you can ask to sit by the windows to watch the animals.

I would never say that it's like Boma. Boma is loud and can get nutty with the buffet, Sanaa is quiet & dimly lit and the food is infinitely better! My husband & I had a great dinner at Sanaa & look forward to going back on our next trip!

I ate there opening nite with great pleasure but again, I agree, I wouldn't rush back. My guest had the steak with tomato chutney(?) and she said it was fabulous. I had the shrimp tandouri and it was quite good- the tandoori sauce was onthe side so I used it sparingly. The ladies at the table next to us ordered the bread and salad samples and enjoyed them both, then we all shared desserts, the thai cream was great, so was the flourless cake. The others were not to my liking. The setting is peaceful and the animals are lovely. However, since this is the only food source other than the bar at Kidani, it is worth a try.

Thanks, we will be down for my birthday the end of May and was looking for some place new that we have not been to yet. We will definately be checking thios place out.

It seems as if you had a good experience...food and atmosphere. May I ask why you say you wouldn't rush back? Just wondering because we are planning on trying it out in December.

I'm interested in trying this as well, but I'd probably have to give up Jiko to go. Not ready to do that yet, lol.

This is the new signature restaurant at Kidani Village which is located next to Animal Kingdom Lodge. This restaurant is comparable to Boma and has a spectacular view of the animals.

Wait is this a signature restaurant. Meaning 2 credits per TS. Or is it 1 credit for TS?
