My DS and I are trying Sanaa for lunch on the recommendation of the CM who took our ADR's yesterday, She has some severe gastric problems and can't eat any thing that's very spicy or any meat that is not ground or falling off the bone. I am really excited to be trying Sanaa but will she be able to enjoy it? She can eat fish as long as it is light in texture (not swordfish or tuna), Our CM mentioned an entree that was steamed in a banana leaf which would be perfect for her but is that always on the menu? Should I give up on this restaurant? Please help.

If you can hold off until tomorrow I can give you an answer. We're dining there tonight.

We ate at Sanaa in August.

I really loved the restaurant, and especially watching the animals outside.

The food and servers were really good. I did have the fish in the banana leaf and it is very mild and not at all overwhelming.

The deserts were excellent.

I had a lunch there with my family while we waited for our room to be ready and really like it. DW and I shared the App Sampler for 2 and the Kefta is pretty much a meatball, in fact my wife thought it was and did not realize she had eaten lamb until I told her afterwards. We also got the Salad Sampler and had the Chickpea, potatoe and carrott ones. They were excellent. They were all pretty soft and were able to be cut with a fork, so they would probably be ok. It looks like there is a slow cooked short rib, which most likely will fall off the bone since it's slow cooked. I think you should be fine and wouldn't change the ADR. It's an amazing place for lunch, to be able to eat lunch while a baby giraffe walks by it so cool.
Below is a link to a menu.

No problems on that account, AFAIC.... the food at Sanaa was pretty dull, spice-wise.

It is pretty mild. No worries about spicy. The servers are very nice, and will help OP choose something that would be good.

I had that sustainable fis in the banana leaf, very light and delicious, definately not spicey. I think you both will love Sanaa..the chefs are fantastic. Go and when you get there speak with the chef, let them know your concerns.
