We're looking for an ADR to replace Akerhaus for lunch (already doing this for breakfast). If I can't find anything else that appeals to us more, we'll keep it. Dining CM suggested Sanaa for the atmosphere. She said you could see the animals out the window, and I think DD8 would love that. However, the few reviews I've found are not great, and even though we have hoppers, its a bit off the beaten path if we're not spending the day at AK. We're staying at AS Mo with a rental car, so we could just drive there for lunch. We're already doing all the DIS favorites- LC, Teppan edo, CR, and trying San Angel something, plus a whole lot of others. Am I missing an obvious alternative? Love seafood, steak. not sandwiches. Is Sanaa good enough and cool enough to possibly go out of our way to try it? BTW, we are eating at Tusker House, Yak & Yeti, and Boma on our two partial days planned at AK.

I also looked at booking sanaa. I was not pleased with the pictures of the food I have seen. It looks like indian food. I suggest Ohana or Kono if your not going there. They have really great reviews. Hopefully someone will give you more insight as this is my first trip!!!

If you enjoy indian flavors and would like to try somethuing new, i recommend Sanaa. I love everything here! Every trip I either plan to go to Jiko or Sanaa.

We really enjoyed the food at Sanaa. I was not initially looking forward to eating here. My DH surprised our family with a trip to WDW. He made all of the resort arrangements and the ADRs. I didn't have the heart to ask him to change this reservation. I'm so glad I didn't. We had a great experience. The food and the service were wonderful.

On that trip we ate at both Boma and Sanaa. We found them to be completely different experiences. I would definitely eat at Sanna again (and Boma too). I would not choose this restaurant solely based on the possibility of seeing the animals as they are not visible from all tables.

Sanaa IS really very good. It is authentic and you will not get mac'n'cheese or chicken nuggets. So if you'd like to try some nice dining, this is very nice. If you just want to eat dinner try Boma.

Sanaa does use Indian flavors but the food is quite mild if you are accustomed to eating Indian food.

I think it's very good but I'm not sure I'd travel to the resort just to eat there.

I have an intense dislike of Indian curries. Mild is too strong for me. That being said, I found a dish I loved that didn't have the curry flavor, so I think they will have something most people can enjoy even if they don't like traditional Indian curry flavors.

I adore Sanaa. I think it's the best 1 TS restaurant on property. I would make the special trip out there. Even if you end up not liking the food, the setting, decor, and ambiance are really unique. Where else can you eat your lunch while you watch a giraffe eat his? :thumbsup2

We have eaten at Sanaa three times and loved it each time. The food is fantastic and it is so nice to have different options from the other Disney restaurants.

I  Sanaa!!! The food is really good and the view is fantastic! I have an ADR for our trip in August. DS 7 loves the kids salmon! I would give it a try. Its one of my favorite restaurants.

Sanaa is one of my family's favorite restaurants at WDW. The bread sampler is delicious, we really enjoy the curries and the service has always been excellent.

Oh I forgot about the bread it is so good.

We did not enjoy Sanaa at all. The atmosphere is great yes, but we didn't enjoy the food and we are pretty adventureous foodies really. We have eaten and enjoyed both Jiko and Boma so perhaps it was an off day but we did order 4 different meals to try each others and did not finish.

YESSSSSS!
Sanaa is absolutely FANTASTIC! It was so good and it's now one of my Mom and my new favorites. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. I reccomend going here for sure! :thumbsup2
My Mom got the lamb, and I got the beef and short ribs and shrimp. Every single one was amazing and I really enjoyed every bite!

Sanaa is one of our favorites for sure! The atmosphere can't be beat, and the food and service are excellent. :) Sustainable fish, hen, short ribs and green curry shrimp, tandoori chicken and shrimp, and the lamb are all wonderful! :cloud9: The dessert trio, the chai cream and the orange sesame cake are also delcious. Great choice! :thumbsup2

We've been to Sanaa twice and plan to visit again on our next trip. I think that the food is very good. If you're still wary of trying it, though, may I suggest the Coral Reef? You mention that your party enjoy seafood and it's one of my favorite lunch spots in the World.
