Has anyone ever been allowed to go into Kidani for breakfast at Sanaa even though you weren't staying there? Wouldn't mind trying that CS location before starting our AK day.

Frankly, I don't think they even pay attention to who's a resort guest. If you take the resort transportation, no problem. But if you're driving, I have no idea whether you can tell the guard shack where you're planning to go. If they have mobile order (don't remember), my guess is that the guard shack would let you in.

Would plan to Uber in if possible. Would be during a slower time period.

You may park your own vehicle at a resort if you hold an advance dining reservation at a sit-down restaurant at the resort, I can't imagine a problem with Uber dropping you off.

Assuming you aren't staying at AKL, this is a significant detour for what I consider nothing special. I actually do the reverse and leave AKL for better breakfast elsewhere.

Uber shouldn't be a problem at all.

YMMV. We use uber/lyft a lot to go resort-to-resort and, many times, the security guard still asks if we have a resort or dining reservation. Granted, I have not tried it at AKL, but have been asked at Poly, CR and BC.

Was at AKV last month and signs were posted… they were checking all cars at the gate, restricting entry to resort guests and those with a reservation. Don’t know whether they would consider a mobile order CS a ressie or not.

If you are going to travel to AKL I would do Boma breakfast they are the best buffet on property for that meal and dinner.

As you probably know but others may not, that's because those three resorts are close to a park--MK for Poly and CR, EP for BC. Avoiding the huge MK lot is a prime motivator for parking at the monorail resorts as is being able to slip in the IG instead of trekking across the EP lot to the main gate.

Disney has become much more strict about parking at such resorts, even to the gate guard demanding those not having a reservation to u-turn and leave. We've seen that happen more than a couple times at the GF on each recent trip.

As small as the VGF1 lot is and often full when there's a wedding at the chapel, I'm all for the guards doing this.

Absolutely. That's why I just wanted to warn OP. While AKL is not within walking distance of a park, I don't know how strict the security guards are regarding parking without a reservation. It would be super inconvenient to take a rideshare there only to be turned away.

Right. It's such a 50/50. We got right in at the Poly during our last trip just to see the decor. It just boils down to the guard.

I've gotten out of a car and walked past guards before. They restrict cars, not people. Of course, the AKL gates are a real hike, and that's not really possible there. I can't see them limiting an Uber drop-off there. It's not like the parking is super popular, and Uber is usually pretty obvious.

Yeah, Uber drop off will be no issue. Especially at AKL.

Have you done it at Contemporary?

I'm local and we occasionally eat at Boma or Sanaa. Every single time I've had to tell or show them my ADR and show them an ID. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at counter service there, though so I haven't tried that.

Ok. I won't.

Tried to go to Sanaa for breakfast this past April. Guard would not let Taxi in without reservation. Told him there aren't reservations for Sanaa, but he wouldn't budge. I had to mobile order a muffin to get in. Cancelled it as soon as we got in. It was an average breakfast. 🦒🦓
