San Juan Port Damaged

Aww no !! We just arrived in Orlando for our cruise tomorrow and got the same e mail 😢.
We booked this particular cruise because of the itinerary. Oh well it can’t be helped but I don’t really want two beach days. At this point though it is what it is and we are lucky to be going on a cruise wherever it goes ( can’t deny I’m somewhat disappointed though )

Also wondering is it one ship at a time at Lookout or is there a possibility of two ships being docked there ?

The dock is for one. I guess one ship could dock and drop guests and pick them up at a specific time, with another ship docked in between that period, but I can't imagine that happening. Too much chance of guests getting stranded. What a thought! I don't think that Lookout Cay was designed to accomodate two ships worth of guests.

Is there any way of knowing if this will be an ongoing situation for the Treasure? I’m on the 3/29 cruise, scheduled for San Juan on 4/2.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t been to Lookout, so I’d probably prefer it, and will gladly take the $250 in Disney loot.

One ship at at time only. The dock can't accommodate anything more

It depends on when the pier in San Juan gets fixed. I believe they were hoping it would be fixed this week (which is probably why DCL waited so long to announce the switch). Hopefully it'll be fixed ahead of your cruise, that's almost two months from now.

We are on the 3/29 sailing on the Treasure as well and just saw this. Let us know how it goes at Lokout Cay. I wouldn’t mind if they do that vs another sea day; we’ve never been to LC.

Puerto Rico looks so interesting and we were looking forward to a relaxed port day. All of the port excursions are sold out (we have little kids so don’t need any excursions there).

I was disappointed in missing San Juan for the second time. I had been to Lighthouse Point twice before. This third time was not great, the ship had a high percentage of adults and the adult beach and eating area was packed with no where to go. We ended up just going back to the ship.

We are sailing on 3/29 (the only other Puerto Rico schedule this year). When did you get notified of the change?

The day before, when most people were already in Orlando/Port Canaveral and really couldn't cancel or move the cruise at that point. People had to scramble to cancel privately booked plans. We could book things for Lighthouse Point when we arrived at Port.

Were you able to get Palo brunch?
They just moved the Palo brunch reservations. We had one that was moved from day 6 (the new LP day) to day 5, which was now a sea day instead of PR. We did nothing, it was just moved by the time we boarded. So I don't think it impacted anyone's ability to get a brunch when they arrived.

They did that for our brunch, too. Unfortunately, they changed Pirate Night and so the Palo Dinner we planned for Pirate Night now was a main dining room night, and they weren't able to change it to the new Pirate Night, so we ended up canceling Palo Dinner.

I just checked the cruise ship port schedule and it can’t be right. April 2nd there are 5 ships docked!!! Really?

I think the Ritz Carlton one is more of a luxury yacht than an actual cruise ship (but I could be wrong on that). But yes, that does appear to be 5 ships in port. It was supposed to be that way with the Treasure last week, too. Also, if you look at the times, the Venezia is scheduled to sail out at 15:00, and the Venezia doesn't even arrive until 13:00. So that's only 2 hours of overlap (probably less, since all aboard for the Treasure will be earlier than 15:00 and everyone won't immediately go ashore at 13:00 when the Venezia docks.
