Okay its DH and I and our 2 yr old DD.

Want to do a beach day in San Juan.

Here are our options:

Really like the idea of a resort with pools too.

Isle Verde Beach excursion through Disney

-or-

Buy a day pass at the Marriot resort and stellaris Casino.

Any advice?

We just got off the Fantasy last week (3 girls under 6) and did the Isle Verde beach excursion and loved it. The hotel was clean, provided us with a quiet, reserved area right on the beach. They provided lounge chairs and umbrellas and free floats for use in either the beach or the pool. The pool was excellent, very relaxing and not crowded. We also enjoyed the lunch that was included, simple but good (chicken, rice, beans, chicken fingers, fries, soup and dessert).

:) Was their a kiddie pool,slides, etc?

We really went in the pool towards the end if the excursion to get rid of the sand and out of the direct sun. There was a little shade on one side of the pool so we stayed in for about 40 mins or so

I have stayed at the Marriott Stellaris. It has a nice pool complex with waterslide. The beach is private and very nice, although the water can be kind of rough. There are many good places to eat within walking distance of the Marriott, so you can plan to have lunch very close to the hotel. Orozco's is about a block away and has FANTASTIC authentic Puerto Rican food. There is a place right across the street called "Buns Burger Shop" which is good if you want something more simple. How much is the Marriott day pass? A cab from the port to that hotel will cost you $15 each way, FYI.
