We are driving from San Jose to Anaheim on Sunday May 3rd. We would like to arrive in around 3pm. We are planning to take I-5. What time should we plan to leave?

Leaving from hayward, including a break for gas/bathroom it's typically about 7ish hours. Depending on what part of San Jose you are in, add about an extra 30-45 minutes on that. If you leave around 7am, assuming no accident as I5 in LA can get backed up at any time, that should put you in between 2-3pm.

We usually leave around 8am on the weekend and arrive around 3pm. It's about 6 hours without stops for us. We usually grab fast food for lunch and gas up, and take one or two other quick breaks, so that adds about an hour. Like T0rrent said, though, it's the last bit of the trip in LA that'll cause the delays!

We usually leave early morning from Gilroy and we can make it with no traffic in about 5-5.5 hrs and that includes one quick stop before we go over the grapevine(gas, starbucks and bathroom).

Yup once we get to Santa Clarita is when we hit start hitting traffic if we hit any at all..which we normally do.. Even with traffic it is about 6hrs for us.

6 to 7 hours depending how fast you drive & if you don't stop much. I'm from south san jose.

I was expecting around that time frame leaving from Santa Cruz, and I do NOT know what time warp we went through, because I remember just generic rest stop stops and lunch at Andersen's, and just a touch of traffic at one point, and it took 13 hours. I still do not know how it took that long. Did the Bermuda Triangle move to Aptos? :)
