San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park

If seeing the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, where would be best to stay? Thanks!

They are about 30 miles apart, so there's nothing that's close to both of them. The WAP is out in the middle of nowhere, and there's no places to stay that are very close to it. The Zoo is close to downtown and Hotel Circle where there are LOTS of places to stay, with a wide variety of price ranges - everything from Motel 6 to Westin, Sheraton, and Hyatt.
