San Diego to Vancouver 2019

Rumor has it that it may be a DVC member charter cruise. No announcement yet though. I wonder when they would announce this news? It’s almost a year away now.

Maybe they are waiting until the next dvc cruise to announce it. Next dvc cruise is July 23.

That’s not much lead time (in terms of DVC/DCL planning timelines). Though I suppose it’s way more planning time than most non-Disney people have for vacations! My family thinks it is hilarious that I have our vacations roughly planned out until 2021

So, just to clarify, that would mean only DVC members could go on this cruise? I had convinced some friends they should do it... and then discovered that it doesn't exist for 2019. :sad2:

Yes that’s correct. Only full DVC members with direct contracts (not resale) can book the DVC Member Cruise. Your friends may have to wait until 2020?

Yup, I was on the phone with DCL when the rest of the 2019 itineraries were released and they told me this cruise could not be booked because it was "chartered". Crossing my fingers that DVC is the one that chartered this cruise.

Maybe you and your friends could do the reverse trip in the Fall--Vancouver to San Diego? The 2019 schedule for that cruise hasn't been released yet--typically they have it at the end of the Alaska season.

We are new DVC members (bought direct in February). Do they only allow you to use points to book these types of cruises or can you pay cash, would you happen to know? We are on this years SD-Van cruise (next week woohoo!!!) but we live in Vancouver so I'd be interested in doing it again if it's a member cruise (but won't use points to book a cruise, ever).

Hello from another Canadian (Calgary)! Yes you can pay cash or points. The points value works out to only $7.45/pt compared to the cash pricing, so you are right, it definitely makes sense to pay cash! The DVC Member Cruise is more expensive than regular DCL cruises, but gratuities are included and lots of gifts apparently. Have fun on your cruise next week!
