I've seen several posts in other threads saying they were running this, so I thought I'd start one on this specifically.
I can't wait to be running in better weather (hopefully) than I've had here in WA.
I have not run this race before.
Anyone have any advice or like/dislike the course?
Any advice is appreciated!:goodvibes

I'll be there-will be the first time I've done this race. It will be my June half marathon in my conquest to do one a month AND the race is ON my 50th Birthday!!:banana:

I'm in!! Hopefully we'll have June Gloom longer than last year to keep the weather perfect.

Tips....mmm... get to the start line early, last year I was waiting in line forever for the portapotties. Bring a small travel size of sunscreen in your bag to put on before the race just in case the sun pops out. Along the lines of weather, bring a garbage bag to keep you warm if there's fog. Finish line/shuttle area could go either way. Last year was bad and horrible and bad. They made some changes this year and we can park at the Airport Authority so hopefully that'll go a little better. You might want to throw in an extra water or gator/powerade in your bag for the finish in your taking the shuttle. We have to walk back a ways to the shuttle area and not sure how long the wait is going to be. Last year I waited over an hour in line for the shuttle, but they changed the pickup so hopefully it'll be better as well. I was telling someone in another thread, Saturday night stay away from Little Italy if you can, it's going to zoo, tons of runners will be there and the lines will be long. Aside from that, it's a great race, and hopefully the fog will part at the end of the race for a great day.

Colleen~ what a great way to spend your b-day!! party: Are you putting anything on your shirt? I'm doing a race on my b-day and going back and forth whether to do that or not.

How great!
My 50th was last week.
Saturday I'm having a pirate party to celebrate my birthday.
We're going to the new movie then having a BBQ at my house afterwards.
Should be a great pirate gathering!

Happy Birthday a little early.:cheer2:

I'm personally not running it, but I have a few friends who are! Sounds like it's going to be a great race though!

I'm running Rock n Roll San Diego Full Marathon this year...

I have never run this course, but I am looking forward to it!!! Actually it will be my first time in California.... can't wait!!!

Thanks for reminding me to look for my corral placement. Looks like someone messed up on my registration. There are 33 corrals of which the last 6 or 7 are half marathon only....

They placed me in corral #30 which shouldn't be correct.

Looks like I'll have to get moved to the proper corral at the expo.... anyone have any experience with corral changes? Is it fairly easy?

JOHN

Yesterday I did my last long training run of 12 miles in prep for the SD R&R!
I'm so glad to have that done.
Now I'm doing just smaller runs for the rest of the week.
Can't wait to get to sunny San Diego on Friday!
See you all there (who are participating)!

Great run today! Nice weather to start with.
I finished the half in 1:55:37. A new PR!
I got my metal engraved at the end.
Stuck my feet in an ice bath (which I highly recommend).
And then waited for 4 hours for my niece and nephew to finish. He ran the full and she walked the half.
I got sunburned too!
But it was fun!
I'm looking forward to doing the Seattle R&R in 3 weeks!:cool1:

So how incredibly beautiful was this weekend? Missed the June Gloom, but I always loved that when I lived there. Went to the Del last night for drinks and didn't want to leave. The beach was beautiful. I couldn't believe how crowded the expo was that early on on Saturday either, it was a zoo!

Race wasn't that good for me, got a cold Friday and was all stuffed up, but body felt good. Came to realize how helpful breathing is when you're running!:rotfl2:

Sorry about the sunburn, but congrats on the PR!!
