San Diego Rock and Roll half marathon question

Has anyone run the race recently?

I finally broke down and signed up for the San Diego Rock and Roll half marathon in June. Got caught up in expo fever, I guess.

I was thinking of booking a room at one of host hotels near the expo or the start, but I won't have my car. It looks like the only way to get back to the starting area is to buy a trolley ticket back to the stop closest to your hotel.
Does that seem correct

I ran the half last year, and the full this year!

Transportation wise, there's a shuttle from the finish to the Airport Parking lot where people can park. Aside from that, I don't think shuttles are going anywhere else. You can take the shuttle and then walk a ways to get back to the trolley. I know last year the shuttle went to a trolley stop, b/c we couldn't park at the airport, but it was a GINORMOUS mess!! But I don't think they're doing that this year.

You might be able to find a taxi from the airport area, but traffic will be really bad so it could take you a long time.

I forget the website, but you could google San Diego Transportation and look for the trolley maps and stops to see where the close one is to the airport shuttle.

I used to live down there too so I can tell you pretty much anything you need- hotels and stuff like that. If you need help with anything. Just PM me!
