Hello All: I presently have a cash reservation at the Marriott Residence Inn across from the terminal for $275 I was hoping award rooms would open so I could use Marriott points, but no luck. I have Hyatt points and can get Manchester Grand Hyatt, it appears it is about 1/2 mile away. Any thoughts? Is the savings of $275 worth it, seems so, but I'm not sure if there is anything that would make it not worth it. I'm not familiar with the area.

We have stayed at the SpringHill Suites, which is part of the same building as the Residence Inn. It's often cheaper at the SpringHill Suites than at the Residence Inn for some reason. But that location is amazing. It's literally across the street and you can see the Wonder from your room.

That said, it would be a quick and cheap Uber/Lyft from half mile away.

We've sailed from San Diego twice now and have stayed at the Wyndham Bayside across the street from the port both times and will stay there again next March. Can't beat the location, you can see the Wonder from your room (if you choose an oceanview room) and there are lots of restaurants and activities within walking distance including a big park in the next block with a huge playground for the kids.

It's probably closer to a mile away, but an easy cab ride. Too bad Spring Hill isn't available that's an easy walk across the street. Any Wyndham or IHG points? They are an easy walk too.

We wanted to book a room there but they told us it was a 2 night minimum and we just needed one night before the cruise. That was a couple months ago when we tried to book for our cruise that's coming up in a couple weeks. Maybe it has changed since then?

That's interesting 🤔 both our stays there were for just one night. Hmmm..were you trying to book over a holiday weekend? If this is a new policy going forward guess I'll have to find a new hotel (probably the Springfield) then.

We stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt before a cruise in 2019 and loved it. It's the nicest Hyatt I've stayed at. We had an amazing view of the port. The hotel is extremely nice and there are places to eat or get breakfast within walking distance that are really nice. The port is a very quick cab ride or uber. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

No, it was for a Tuesday night, 3/29. We made reservations somewhere else but booked the cruise parking at the Wyndham, so we'll just drive over in the morning.

I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina before my last cruise out of San Diego. It had a quick airport shuttle, and it was an easy Uber to the port. I could see the ship from my room. It was fewer points than the Residence Inn or Fairfield across from the terminal.
