Can I get recommendations for a good hotel in the Sea World/Zoo area....looking to do 4 days in SD before doing 5 days in DL..thanks...looking to go in July

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Bayside. It looks nice. We go in three weeks so I can give you a recommendation then if we like it. Here is a link...

You don't say how many people, what price range you are looking for, etc....we are staying at the Beach Haven Inn in February, it's fairly close and very reasonable. I'll let you know what we think of it when we return.

We're staying at the Hotel del Coronado in July. It would be nice to have another Diser in residence!

www.sandiegogetaway.com has some decent rates and nearness to your 2 spots. You might check them out. We plan to stay at Holiday Inn & Suites La Jolla to get the extra space the microwave/fridge in our suite.

we are staying in Hotel Circle at the Howard Johnson's to be close to SeaWorld and the Zoo.. don't know much about the area or the hotels but we are giving it a try..

Once you have figured out a few hotels that you are thinking of staying at go to tripadvisor.com and read their reviews. That should help you make your decision.

The Catamaran is our favorite. It is on Mission Blvd. You have a nice quiet beach on the bay at the hotel then the beach is a short walk across the street.They have kids activities and bike, boat kayak rentals there too.I can't think of the name but there is also a little boardwalk with small kiddie rides and a roller coaster near by- we usaully drive to it. We love this hotel for it's location.The grounds of the hotel are really nice too.Also a FABULOUS place to eat is nearby. WORLD FAMOUS-delicious food and you can get a view of the beach.

We've stayed at the Comfort Inn & Residence Inn in San Diego, and they were both nice.

However, here's a second vote for the Catamaran. The hotel & grounds are really gorgeous. My SIL got married there, and I was so impressed with the hotel. I'd like to stay there someday.
