San Diego hotels with cool pool areas/waterslides??

My children tell me that an awesome pool area, preferably with water slides, is a top priority for them for the San Diego portion of our trip. We have not been there, but plan a swing through to see the San Diego zoo, so just wondering if anyone can recommend a nice hotel in that general area with emphasis on an exciting pool area. We will have a rental car to get to the zoo, but I'd like to not be super far from the zoo. Thanks!

Hi. Sounds like the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay would be a great fit. I saw your other post. It's a deluxe hotel on the bay, maybe 10 minutes, 15 tops, from the zoo. It's a big hotel so they'll surely have a room configuaration you'd like. And they have 3 water slides!

May should be great for a pool day, though there's no promises with weather even here. It is hardly likely to rain, but morning marine layer is a possibilty. If water time is important, as awesome as the Hotel Del is, I personally would go with the Hyatt. The pools will be heated, while the ocean water will still be very cold.
