San Diego Cruises 2021

Also, EBPC will be vaccinated only. All ages must be vaccinated. There will be disembark testing on the EBPC.

But otherwise, looks like any west coast cruises before 10/1 are cancelled, and anything after 10/1 will be a 2/3/4 nighter, and any 7 nighters will get chopped down to length.

Yup, our "7N" will now be a 4N, and we will be the first paying passengers back on the Wonder. Sad, but not unexpected.

Yup. Our 2 nighter was cancelled and our 5 nighter is chopped down to 4. I'm just going to be grateful that it's happening at all. And the Wonder has officially arrived in San Diego this morning!

Per an email I've seen, DCL is splitting the 7N into a 4N and 3N. I am hoping that I will be able to do a B2B for this. DCL has also said in this email that B2B cruisers will need to take a PCR test between cruises, at DCLs expense.

I think you might be able to. The Cancellation letter we received was very specific about how the discount certificate can be used it can be used and essentially said 'no trying to use this on a B2B with the first modified cruises':

"The discount cannot be applied to the Disney Wish Maiden Voyage on June 9, 2022, or the Disney Wonder October 5, 2021, if sailing on October 1, 2021; Disney Wonder October 8, 2021, if sailing on October 5, 2021. Guests are responsible for any balance due after the discount has been applied."

It wouldn't work anyway, because you have to complete the first cruise to get the certificate and you would have had to be PIF for the 2nd already, but they felt they needed to try and call that out. Maybe to avoid people trying to use it after they get it, but before the second sailing. Interesting times. I hope you can do it.

Asking my TA to look into it. The wording in the email seems to imply 4N or 3N. It does not mention that you could do both.

As part of our phased approach, we have modified the October 1, 2021, 7-night Disney Wonder sailing into two separate sailings. Your sailing will now be a 4-night cruise departing October 1, 2021, featuring two days at sea and a stop at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. If you prefer, you may instead choose the October 5, 2021, 3-night sailing featuring a stop at Ensenada, Mexico, and a day at sea.

Yeah, I think you'll have to choose one and then make a brand new booking for the second.

I'm so bummed the 9/24 sailing got canceled. I knew it could happen but was really hoping it wouldn't. I really wanted to be on a Disney ship on my actual birthday for once. Looks like it's a weekend in San Diego for me instead.

Curses. My 5 night is gone from my Reservations now. I was hoping they'd just lop that last night off and leave things as they were. If they had just dropped the last night (Ensenada, which is off the table for this sailing), it would match the new itinerary perfectly. Looks like I'll be playing the Fastest Finger game to try to get back my Palo/Tasting/Mixology reservations.

Our 7N has been removed now, too. I wonder what the concierge request window will be...

We are on the WBPC next spring. Let the EBPC be the test cruise for that sailing!

So, just got off the phone with concierge. They were able to answer a few questions for me. First, if you used a FCC for your fare they will refund to that (we did). Next, the 25% credit can be applied to an existing cruise. It just has to commence before 9/30/22. The credit is only available once you complete the modified cruise. A back to back is possible, you will just have to book it separately. The refunded FCC can be used for that cruise, but not the 25% credit since you would have to book it before the credit is available. Lastly, there will be no facial services, or shaves, available. And no spa services longer than 55 minutes. So, if you have a 75 minute massage that will not be available.

If you are in concierge there will NOT be a pre booking window for excursions, or on-board activities. However, the shoreside staff will do their best to reschedule your activities before they are available for general booking.

Thanks for this info, which is a bummer but not unexpected since I think this is what they’re doing on the Dream.

I don’t suppose you know if you already have a 75-minute massage booked, will they just change it to 50 minutes? I just tried to change to a 50 minute and unfortunately the times available don’t work for me.:(

7 night got removed also. I only chose that because I didn't want to hop on a plane to Florida
right now with the case count.

Honestly even with all the testing right now it is better for us to cruise from San Diego.
If someone tests positive we can just drive back home.

I am not 100% certain, but if you are concierge they may try to change it for you. Shoreside told me they will try to fit your planned activities into the new schedule. Otherwise you will need to rebook all your activities

Unfortunately not concierge, I guess I will have to contact them to figure this out. It’s still showing up in my booked activities as a 75-minute massage and I’m hoping it will just change to 50! (Wishful thinking)

This information was Posted on the Port of San Diego's website yesterday. I edited it down to just the Wonder related info (and added the bold):

The following is what the Port currently anticipates for cruise ship activity over the next month (as of 9/2/21; schedule subject to change):
  • September 2 to 10: Disney Wonder is scheduled to be at the B Street Cruise Ship Terminal for provisions and services. No passengers will be aboard.
  • September 10 to 12: Disney Wonder will conduct a CDC simulated cruise with volunteer passengers.
  • September 13 to 27: Disney Wonder will be in and out of port for various purposes including supply and crew needs, and test cruises.
  • October 1: two ships will be in port, the Grand Princess at Broadway Pier for a visitation, and the Disney Wonder at the B Street Cruise Terminal as a homeport. These are the first sailings currently scheduled out of the Port of San Diego since spring 2020.

If they need volunteers I can be at the port in 30 minutes. 🤣
