We are planning a trip this fall and have a couple of questions. Traveling with 6 people and we want to rent a condo/vrbo. 3 adults, a 11yo, 8yo and 5yo.

We are looking to do the Zoo, Balboa, wild animal park, legoland, and would really like to drive up to Disneyland for the day.

What area is it nicest to stay in? Near the beach or north of San Diego? other? Anyone have a specific place they stayed at and liked?

Can the kids swim in the ocean in Oct/November?

Also flying from Milwaukee. Are there any better/cheaper alternatives to San Diego?

Thanks
Dan

We love love love La Jolla. Great beaches, not far from the zoo or any other attractions, great shopping, plenty of restaurants.

Last time we vacationed there, we stayed at The Grande Colonial :)

this is my friend that lives in San Diego

Without a doubt Near the Beach! It will be more expensive, but worth it! October/November can be very hot months, and we generally have some really hot days in the beginning of October! The ocean would have cooled off, but kids really don’t care. It should be warm enough to swim in, just a little chilly! There is not much “to do” north county, and a ton of things to do by the beaches
