San Diego area hotel

Hi! I'm planning a family trip to Disneyland and San Diego for July 2026. We're flying into LAX and spending 4 days at Disneyland and then renting a car and driving to the San Diego area for 3 days, then flying out of San Diego. We want to visit San Diego Zoo and possibly have a beach day. Our family consists of 6 adults (3 couples) and a 6yo. I'm fine with 3 rooms or some type of room/suite combo. Oh, and I just realized that we'll be there during Comic Con (yikes). Does anyone have any recommendation for a hotel for our San Diego leg of the trip? Thanks!
